Guest guest
LONGER DAYS Sunday, 14 March 2010 I do hope you all remembered to set your clocks ahead one hour last night. I remember, on many of my cruises, the ship would sometimes sail back and forth through diffirent time zones. When that happened, it meant resetting our clocks and watches. But lots of times, we'd always have a few cruisers who forgot to adjust their clocks. So they'd end up being late for some of our on board activities! Last night, I set my clock ahead one hour, put on my moisturizer, went to bed and looked forward to this new day. Because today, we get a whole extra hour of daylight! Now Dracula and the cast from Twilight may not be too happy about this time change. But we humans can look forward today to another glorious hour of sunshine! Now we just have to plan what to do with that extra hour of daylight. Hmmm. Well, you can use that one more hour of daylight to take a nice walk this evening. You can spend some extra time toning or doing one of my workout DVDs. Or you can spend an extra hour in the kitchen chopping vegetables to make a tasty chicken soup to enjoy all week long. How about some planting? You can start doing some gardening, maybe planting some fresh spices to use in your recipes later in the spring. How's about planting some parsley, basil or cilantro? Spring begins later this week so why not get a head start on your spring cleaning? Now let me tell you, I'm a real cleaner! Oh yes, I'll get out the Mr. Clean, some rags, sponges and yes, even a toothbrush. Okay, I know you're wondering...what's the toothbrush for? Well, it's for cleaning those teeny spaces where the rags might miss. And you know what? I can most probably clean three rooms in just one hour. How about you? You can also use that extra hour spending time going through your closet. Pull out those clothes that're too big for you now and donate them to a worthy charity. You can spend that extra hour sending five or six e-mails to people you love and reminding them of how much you love them. You can say things like..."I love you more than fried chicken! I love you more than Haagen-Dazs Rum-Raisin Ice Cream." Or you can say, "I love you more than lasagna!" (And mean it!)Oh how I love when God turns on that big warm light in the sky. I love when I can look out my window and see the sun coming up in the morning. I stare in awe at the unique colors of each sunrise. And those later-in-the-day sunsets we get, starting today, are pretty spectacular, too!Now I want you to promise me something. And that is you're not going to waste one moment of this extra hour of daylight you get, beginning today.Let's see, what will I do with my extra hour? Ya' know, I think I may just fly a kite!Love,

Seemingly my charity lately has been "Our Sister's Closet" which is a group that gives workable items to ladies in transition get back employed (through interviews, etc and into jobs).
