Guest guest
Hi Skinny!.....No, your message was not a duplicate to our group. Welcome home! and sorry to hear about that nasty Sky Cap giving you the " sickies " . 43 pounds? Geez....I'll bet you're the winner in the weight loss department. I think Weight Watchers is a great diet as it is balanced. My daughter-in-law lost about fifty pounds on it and she looks fantastic now. Your knees must love you! What is the Enbrel not doing anymore, or should I say, what are you feeling now that you weren't when you first started taking it? And why Remicade and not Kineret or Humira? My friend is changing from Enbrel to Kineret. I'm wondering if Enbrel opens up the chance of respiratory ailments more although I will say that my chest has been much weaker since I've developed Stills, nothing to do with Enbrel. Regarding my up coming surgery, it's been nice not having to " poke " myself....... ) I always hated Mondays and Thursdays... ( Thanks for your concerns for all of us and you are amazing that you've already read so many of the postings. I'll bet you had hundreds! You take care of yourself now so we don't have another Stilligan to worry about. xxoo Michigan Carmen
Guest guest
e i was sorry to miss ur message for lunch,i woulda luved to hav been there when u phoned but i was out losing sum money i thnk lol.Take care get sum rest sounds like u need to catch up on the sleep huh. d.Canada Home again Hello Stilligans, Greg and I finally got home from Vegas, whoooeee what a long trip. I stayed with my son for a little over a week and had a great time with the grand kids, I think grandma is my true calling in life!! I was so tired that I slept all but about 30 minutes of the 600 mile trip home. Greg kept waking me up to make sure I was alright, made me feel guilty for being such a bum companion in the car [not enough to keep me awake though, lol.] My shoulder seems to be getting better, that has been a real thorn in my life these last weeks, but the fevers are getting worse, it has been a few years since fevers got so high for me. I think I just need a few days of sleep, lol. I have a Remicade infusion on Wed. morning so I will probably sleep this whole week away but I think the Remicade is kicking in, at least in the shoulder. The conference was just wonderful, so enriching to meet some of our Stilligans. It is empowering to me to meet folks who are courageously fighting the same battle I am. I will write more about the conference and the wonderful Stilligans we met after I wake up, lol. I hope everyone made it home safely. I read about the donation from Joe and his motorcycle friends, how very wonderful and thoughtfull of those folks!! I WILL get some thank you notes off to them soon! I like the idea to have our conference there! Lots of love and prayers to all of you, back after a few days ZZZZZZZZZZing, Louise.

Guest guest
Betsy sounds like you had a whirlwind of a trip! When things settle down your going to have to write a more detailed account...you know us girls we want to know the exact moment that your heart swelled and tears puddled in your eyes. Steve will be in my prayers and So will you (I always believe the caregiver needs extra prayers because you have to go through it without drugs! lol) Jo
Guest guest
> A belated Happy New Years to all- ****So glad to have you back! And so happy you had such a wonderful time and that all went well. The miracles just keep happening. Brother Jac had to go to the emergency room to have his leg checked. The pew he was sitting on collapsed on his leg. He suffers from bloodclots. All seems well tho'. No remarks about rescheduling his surgery. ***Do you think we scared him off at the swim party? lol Tell Jac hi, and hope he gets better soon. You think the pew breaking would have him running for the DS huh? loloh, the things we suffer... Monday the 12th will be the revision of husband Steve's hip replacement. I will be staying in at Tulane Med Center for a few days- ***Does this mean he is back home? I hadnt heard...hope all goes well for you both, my prayers are with you. Sorry to hear about your brother Jac having that pew collapse on him. Ouch! Good to know he's okay, though. Your hubby Steve is in my prayers for his hip replacement revision. Hugs! Guest guest
Hello Everyone and thanks for all of your good wishes. The surgery went well and thankfully the doctor was able to fit the lead into same vein; he just capped off the defective lead and left it in place. I am now under the same restrictions as I was with the first ICD implant. I can't lift my arm above my shoulder for three weeks and have to wear a sling while sleeping. I was also told not to drive until I see the doctor again, which is in a week. I don't see why I can't drive if I am very careful and mostly use my right arm. I am going to spend the next two days just resting up. Sydney Magnet for fractured lead Anyone knows what size and type magnet one would need to shut off our ICD just in case of a fractured lead. I need the pacemaker function about 90% of the time. I would be on the way to the hospital as soon as it happened. Craig

Guest guest
I am home again! And it feels so good to be home.I spent most of last week up in North Dakota with my parents. Mom & Dad are doing okay. Dad is slipping away -- a little bit more each day. He tires easily. He confuses easily. He is starting to need to stop and catch his breath when he walks down the hallway.I am so grateful for the loving care that is being showered upon them from their church. Dad was their pastor for 20+ years and they are seeing this as a way to give back to my parents. They have people who stop in daily to be sure that they are doing okay. They have people who call to see how they are doing. They have organized a group of people who take turns bringing in meals for them so they don't need to do a lot cooking for themselves. It makes it easier to let them stay in their own home while I (and my brother) are so far away. & I will be going up again next week. Will take our two sons & one girlfriend with us. Will spend a few days there before heading to 's family home in Minnesota.I have pretty much decided to not focus on my weight loss journey for the next 10 days or so. We are going to have a full & busy weekend (my hubby is a pastor - one of the busiest weekends of the year) and then will be traveling to different family events in North Dakota & Minnesota. I am realistic enough to know that it will be impossible for me to exercise in the enviroments I will be in. Will do the best I can to search for healthy foods to eat.I have set January 5 as my re-start date. That is the day we will be home from all of our traveling.
