If they don't haveit, I can sometimes get my son to find what I'm looking for on iTunes -he has one computer loaded with that software. I can't wait until we get our new computer (Its purchase has now been pushed back until afterChristmas) so I can install that software and roam the iTunes storemyself! Yeah, same here. My Wal-Mart doesn't have that great of a selection, Target's is worse, and I cannot find a durn thing at Best Buy. I love their anime section, but for what I buy, we may as well have kept FYE, which we lost to get Best Buy... So it's Amazon for me too, unless I can whine at my brother to d/l the songs I want off of iTunes for me. (Sharing a computer with my dad who isn't fond of folks downloading things.) > To me, there was not one " happy " song on her CD. She even took somehappy songs and made them sound a little well...UN-happy.That happens a lot with operatic-type singers. Which I don't understand, really. Is it because they have to focus so much on producing the sound that they can't let themselves go into the music/meaning of the songs, do you think? Has me concerned, but since Dad wants the cd, I guess we'll find out how happy or un- she comes out. It's Christmas time, so I've been wondering which album I'll be addingto my collection this year. Last year it was Setzer and his BigBand sound, the year before was Merry Axemas (rock guitar versions), and a few years before that it was that kid's folk singer Raffi. This yearI'm thinking of getting Bob Dylan's. The preview tracks on Amazonsounded pretty cool. We try get something non-traditional each year and have quite a weird collection. Blame the Chipmunks and Beach Boysfor this infatuation. I'm waiting for Lou or Tom Waits to come outwith a holiday album some year! LOLWhat holiday music do *you* all listen to? LOL! That's a loaded question right there. We've got a few doozies, but don't often add full albums to our collection, so it's a hair dated in most spots. We've got I Am Santa Claus, which has one of my favorites on there, " The What's-It-To-Ya Chorus " based on the Hallelujah Chorus... Also by Bob Rivers, Twisted Christmas, with " The 12 Pains of Christmas " (12 Days of Christmas). Found (through my anime obsession) a song called " Vader, Did You Know? " by Vic Mignogna (awesome, awesome voice actor!), so I've put in a request for that on my list. " Smitty's Toy Piano " ranks high, and was one of the first Christmas 45's my dad gave me, so it comes out every year for a peek, much like " Icicles, Holly, Red Berries, and Snow " (since I can't find either on cd *grumble*). Have to dig out my Snoopy's Christmas LP as well, speaking of vinyl. " Donner and Blitzen " and " Christmas " are great songs! Pott's " Silent Night " is beautiful and so is Celtic Thunder's " Christmas 1915 " .... Not to mention " 's Boy Child " by Harry Belafonte and " Gloria " by W ... " Once Upon A December " by Deana is wonderful. " When the River Meets the Sea " , " Brothers " , and " In Our World " from Emmett Otter's Jug-band Christmas, " I'm Mr. Heat/Snow Miser " from Year without a Santa Claus, and " I'm All Alone in the World " , " Winter was Warm " , " La! La! La, La, La " , and " The Cratchit Family Dinner Song " from Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol all must be enjoyed repeatedly every year. I hearken back to my choir days with " Merry Christmas With Love " by Sandy Patti. " Dead, Dead, Dead " from South Park always seems to pop up, though it's more of a personal favorite than a family favorite. Then too, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's The Christmas Attic and Christmas Eve & Other Stories are both wonderful albums too, especially " Christmas Canon " (set to Pachelbel's Canon in D), " A Star to Follow " , " Ornament " , " This Christmas Day " , " The World that She Sees " ... most of their vocal stuff. I don't bother much with the instrumental bits. There's a lot of comedy songs on there, I guess. Then too, I get really down about the holidays ever since Mom passed away 8 years ago, working retail doesn't help, and so I have to help the mood along as best I can, y'know? Meh, sorry for rambling on. With our store not playing Christmas music, I'm not as sick of it as I sometimes get... Better get to getting. Got dill soup to make for lunch, tonight's dinner, tomorrow's lunch, tomorrow's dinner, and possibly lunch Tuesday, and it ain' gonna make itself... Love music though, and used to love the Christmas holiday... So it was easy to go off... Take care! Taryn
