Linet ~ 4 kids...WOW!! You must be supermom!! I struggle with 2.

What worked for me was to view that hour I workout as ME time. My quiet

time to think and do something good for myself. I found the easiest way to

do this to get up early (which I hate..I'm a nite owl too). I know myself

well enough that if I don't do it 1st thing it probably won't get done. I

feels so good after my shower and I know its DONE!! It really puts me in a

good mood the rest of the day. Sometimes you just have to DO IT. I does

become routine after a while, as I'm sure you remember.

Here is an article from that might help you: The 4 Week Freakout

http://skwigg.tripod.com/id40.html

and this: http://skwigg.tripod.com/id63.html

Look around her website. She has lots of great info!!

Hang in there!!

Linet -

Beating yourself up will not help! We need to learn to be nice to

ourselves. I've been reading a lot about that in the books by Geneen

Roth. She really explains that overeating is often done to protect us from

things we don't want to deal with - it's a cast on a broken sense of self.

You'll be fine once you are ready -

lowest weight +6lbs. I theorize that it's from reading all the " diet " related

books I've read in the last month, along with the 6 to 8 week post-operation

recover period. I was eating not so good and sitting on my bum, the small gain

is no surprise. However, I am pleasantly surprised that it was a less

significant gain than I had imagined. The " disaster center " of my brain, you

know the thinking place that tends to light up like Chernobyl 1986 whenever

unpleasant things occur in life, had me expecting a much higher number.

For me, my intention is to release this weight easily and effortlessly. My

second intention is to Have my body's metabolism burn the calories effectively

and burn the stored calories as well easily also.

Get and Stay Motivated

What's your motivation, baby? If you're struggling through your workouts and calorie counting has got you down, try to stay focused on your primary motivators. What's pushing you to lose weight? Is it the thought of slipping on that party dress this holiday season? Do you want to pass the stress test next time you see your doctor? Here's what one of my teammates recently said to another teammate about finding and keeping her motivation:

Have an internal discussion and try to pinpoint exactly why you want to lose the weight. Then, make a firm commitment to yourself that you will do what it takes to reach your goal. Keep your goal close at heart at all times, picture it, taste it, feel it and then do the math: track all calories in and track all calories burned. Drink lots of water. Minimize your sodium intake and make your workouts strong and consistent. You have what it takes to reach your goals. Now go for it! Don't let anything or anyone hold you back (including YOU)!

motivation

I just listened to the podcast about working out and I got so motivated. I made

a list of all the things I love about working out. I was feeling jazzed-so good,

I thought why not try on those pants that haven't fit me for awhile. Well, they

still don't fit and they feel even smaller. Eeeks, note to self..don't try on

those pants for a real long time. I am going to try and let it not get me down

and keep thinking of this process, emphasis on process.

Good luck and lots of love and support
