Guest guest
Today's exercise (so far): 2.16 miles in 34:44 min (pace was 16:04) Not too shabby, considering I *forced* myself to walk 5 minutes then jog 1 minute for my intervals. Knee's not too cranky with that. Next weekend, I may try 4/1 intervals. Since I didn't go the "scheduled" 3 miles, I will have to consider this next weekend when I am scheduled for 4 miles and may cut back to 3 miles instead, ya know? Even though I am training for a race, the training itself is no race. If I cannot build up the mileage for October, I am simply side-lined until May. I do not need to decide until almost mid-September, so I have about 9 weeks to decide. I say "so far" for exercise because I am considering a.m. and p.m. workouts to see what that does. I can do a cardio in the a.m. (or p.m.) and a strength at the opposite. Or two different cardio options. As long as I am not working the same muscle groups this would work, right? Like arms or upper body one day and then legs/lower body the next? I am thinking of mixing up my cardio so it's not all wogging, too. We'll see. I am a firm believer in the if it isn't broke why fix it theory, but maybe it's time to change my exercise to keep things interesting. We'll see. I took my measurements today. I've gained a few inches, similar to gaining a few pounds, so I do have my work cut out for me now that I am back on track. So. In 4 years and 9 months, I have released 50 lbs and 68.5 inches from my body. It definitely shows in the before/after pictures I carry with me for motivation and encouragement. Here's the numbers: Breasts (was 50, now 41) -9 Waist (was 44, now 34) -10 Abdomen (was 54, now 37) -17 Hips (was 54, now 45) -9 Thighs (were 32 each side, now 26.5) -11 Calves (were 19 each side, now 17.5 and 18) -2.5 Arms (were 16 each, now 14.5) -3 Ribs - under the breasts where bra band would be (was 44, now 37) -7 Total inches gone 68.5 - yay! So, again, I will say: if you do not take measurements, start doing it. It's another great way to motivate yourself. It's like tracking your steps on a pedometer, it does not have to be perfect, just a guideline to see the changes you are making. If you can't do them yourself, have someone else do them for you. Just be sure you are measuring around the same time of the month so TOM is not a factor. This is going to be a crazy week for me. DS16 is wrapping up his summer cross country schedule this week and then they get 4 weeks off until practice officially starts in August. Apparently the summer runs were just practice to keep the kids active or something, get to know the new guys n gals, etc. So, here's my crazy week: ** Monday: ** Tuesday: cross country ** Wednesday: ** Thursday: cross country ** Friday, is the memorial/wake for ex-FIL ** Saturday (other than being my birthday) is the funeral mass and burial, as well as my company summer picnic and baseball game I have made my exercise list for the week but I still need to look at menu options and get to the grocery store. Ugh. I hate it! I wish I had someone to cook for me. Maybe I should see if there are any of those places you go put it all together for 1-2 weeks at a time and buy the stuff LOL!! Then all I'd have to do is pull it out of the freezer and thaw it/cook it and wahlah: dinner's easy! Or not. Have a great day and new week. in WA 310/260/190 -68.5" from my body An Excellent Credit Score is 750. See Yours in Just 2 Easy Steps! Guest guest
> Today's exercise (so far):? 2.16 miles in 34:44 min (pace was 16:04) Today I already did 20 minutes of qigong, a 1-mile video, and 20 minutes of weights. If my foot feels as good tomorrow as it does today I'll do a bit of treadmill time. I'm still waiting for USPS to deliver my Amazon order with the new qigong video and the bellydance basics dvds. > Not too shabby, considering I *forced* myself to walk 5 minutes then jog 1 minute for my intervals. This is your first time out in a few weeks, isn't it? Not too shabby at all! >I am thinking of mixing up my cardio so it's not all wogging, too.? We'll see. I like doing a number of 20 minute workouts of different things - it really does give you a whole body workout. > I took my measurements today. I haven't done mine in a few months. Saturday is August 1 so I'll probably do it then. I fluctuate an inch or 2 back and forth evry month, never measuring the same 2 months in a row. > So.? In 4 years and 9 months, I have released 50 lbs and 68.5 inches from my body.? It definitely shows in the before/after pictures I carry with me for motivation and encouragement. I look at pics of me at almost 300 and others of me at 250 and there's no change at all except a bit in my face. I have to get to 220 to see a difference, adn it's been around 20 years since I was last there. > ** Saturday (other than being my birthday) So what is Jay getting you this year? Any idea yet? Or you have to wait until you see him again? >is the funeral mass and burial, as well as my company summer picnic and baseball game What a day! > I hate it!? I wish I had someone to cook for me.? Maybe I should see if there are any of those places you go put it all together for 1-2 weeks at a time and buy the stuff LOL!!? With your luck, what you like your son won't and vice versa.
