Guest guest
First, I'll apologize (or not, LOL) for the length of the post. You all know me, I can be rather wordy with my life stories (aka updates). So, be warned and skip it or come back to this one if you are short on time or patience: 1st Victory today (biggest, IMHO): What I wanted (at Mcs, BTW): Quarter Pounder w/Cheese Fries (any size - I would have sucked them all down, so let's call it a Lg) Shamrock shake (may as well go Lg here too) * points for meal = 39 What I had (settled on): Chicken bacon ranch salad (grilled chicken), yes, with the "real" dressing Dr Pepper * points for meal = 17 (pretty sure I figured that correctly) SO. While I know I could have saved some calories, etc (aka points) by not having "real" Dr Pepper and getting the lo or no fat dressing, I didn't do as poorly as I could have! I saved 22 points!! And, sometimes it *is* about taste/flavor vs saving a few points. 2nd Victory today (really the first, since it happened first in the day): Someone jokingly had placed TWO Hostess Ding Dongs on my desk last week and I keep moving them from Point A to Point B to Point C around my desk looking at them all week, contemplating eating them (I can if I want, just has to fit in the realm of hunger/fullness and my points LOL). So, today, I finally said "who wants them" to my co-workers and they had new homes/tummies to go into within seconds. The guy that sits right next to me said he was disappointed in the taste/flavor and wished he didn't eat it (LOL!!). Ca-ching! Success, -girl, SUCCESS!! Mother updates (so far). Maybe I didn't post to the eGroups, but she has issues going on. I still don't know a lot, but this is going to impact life again (obviously): Seeing cancer doc (breast) - next week Seeing urologist (blood in pee issue) - couple of weeks Needs to have a hip replaced - probably scheduling for June after kids get out of school as she is transport to/from school - also wants to see what's up with pts 1 and 2 above before dealing with # 3 Sigh. In light of this info I learned today, victories 1 & 2 above are well noted as today could have gone way worse!! Hope you are all having a great week - sending happy, skinny vibes your way. I'll be by to check more of the posts later or tomorrow. Oh. And NO I was NOT impressed with the TBL cliff-hanger for a week! GRRR! in WA310/255.8/190 I've lost 69" from my body!! Guest guest
#1: hurray! and as far as the "real" dressing goes, i can attest making the switch isn't always worth it. i used to get a buffalo chicken salad for lunch with blue cheese dressing. because BC is so flavorful i only used one pkt. when i tried to trim the cals by getting the low fat ranch, with only half the cals or the BC, i ended up needing both pkts, voiding the cal savings anyway. i went back to the BC. #2: hurray! (don't you hate when you get something, it doesn't taste as good as you thought it would & you eat it anyway? ) sorry to hear about your mom. i'll be sending postive mojo out for her, you, & your family. sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. (if you can see the stationery, those are mojo bubbles!) Joy joybilee@...
