Guest guest
Hi Everyone.... I am sure there will be many new memebers in the next few days as the new year is here (almost). This for me is not a new years resolution but is necessary at this point. I don't know if I ever shared this in the past but I had ovarian cancer in 1990 and have been cancer free since. Recently I had a mamogram and lab work done. The lab work showed a signifigant increase in the marker for my type of ovarian cancer and a cat scan revealed that it is most likely back. In the mean time the mamogram showed a solid mass that has doubled in size from last year so I now have an appointment with the surgeon to most likely have the " mass " removed (surgery one). In the mean time the gyn/oncologist has ordered another ct and more lab work just to give me another month before he does surgery and to make sure the original information has not changed. *I* have decided that I lose some weight before I have surgery because I know that at 378lbs it is more risky then at a lower weight. I started on Friday after my appointment and have been keeping my calorie count low (1300 to 1500). Unfortunately I have not had the chance to get much exercise in other then general house cleaning and work. I am trying to eat several times a day just small amounts. This I know is a big improvement over how I normally eat, one big meal a day and maybe one small one. On the days that I work from 4p-9p I normally eat one meal around 1-2p and that is it. I will have a drink when I get home and sometimes have a snack, but that is it. Oh and for the basics, I am married, mom of 3 and live in Michigan in the country on a small crop farm.
