Guest guest
Do you like good news first, or bad news? I'm the kinda gal that would rather get the "bad news" over with first LOL!! Ok. First. The not-so-good news. I was up 4.2 at WW today. Just about what I expected, since that was the unofficial looking number earlier this week returning from CA. WW leader doesn't know what to think or say when people have gains like that. I told her: "trust me, anything up to a 5 lb gain, I earned and expected. LOL!!" It'll probably take me 2 weeks to get that back off now, which is ok. I feel like I am "in control" now of my eating and I know I haven't exactly exercised up to par the last week or two, ya know?? Then. Training clinic. The speaker today was a vascular surgeon here in Spokaloo and it was a great topic. Right in line with the WW topic of the week: muscle does NOT weigh more than fat, it just takes up less space. You need to look at the body composition not just the number on the scale to gauge your success, etc. There's a difference between weighing 155 and being "fat" and weighing 170 and being "muscular"... those were his examples. I am glad this doctor-dude (LOL) was the speaker today to wrap up what the WW meeting said to implant it in the brain further. 6 miles. Oh.My.Gosh!! I finished in 1:37:something, so we'll call it 1:38:00 LOL!! That's what, 16:33 minute miles. At that pace, I will finish the 12K in 2:02:00 roughly. Gahhhhhh!! It's my goal to be able to do this in 1:50:00, remember?? At 7.46 miles, that means I need to do 15 minute miles for sure. I am giving myself the benefit of the doubt here. I have been slacking for 2 weeks solid on my training and exercise and allergies have been out of control this week. At one point on today's course, I definitely felt like I had allergy-induced asthma and couldn't breathe. I ended up walking more than I wanted to. Last time, I would walk anywhere from 4 to 6 minutes between wog sessions, but this time it was like 8-10 minutes of walking and then a little wog in there. I guess one thing that was an improvement: last time I did 45-60 second wogs, this time I was clearly going 60-90 seconds, so I am increasing the time. I am also learning better how I need to dress for our mid-mornings (9 ish) for this form of exercise. Today, I had on long exercise pants and a long sleeved t-shirt and a pull-over sweatshirt. The sweatshirt was off soon after/about mile one LOL!! The rest of the time, I spent taking turns between pulling the sleeves up and down on my t-shirt!! It varied if we were in the sun or not, of course, plus the wind was blowing off and on. There's a difference in how people dress for only walking (I remember from last year - heck, I could wear jeans if I wanted to and a sweatshirt and probably be comfortable rotating between jacket being on and off, but to wog part of it, you need to be more comfortable in your clothes and not too hot. Probably not too cold either. I went today and was a big girl and got my 2nd holes re-pierced in my ears. That will be cool when I can move my diamonds to the top hole and wear other earrings in the main/lower hole. Remember when Jay told me I am in shoe overload? Told him I don't want him to think I am in earring overload only being able to wear one pr at a time LOL!! Anyway. I'm here, I survived the day. Now, I need to reevaluate my exercise for this week to get out on the road more instead of going to Curves, I think. Hope you are all having a great weekend!! I'll try to catch up more later. in WA310/253.2/170 (-56.8 total, 83.2 to go, 13.2 from half-way point) I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it! -Art Need a new ride?
