Shame is an emotion strong enough to trigger serious self-reflection and lifestyle change in just about anyone. Like when your in-laws showed up unexpectedly and the house was a complete mess. You were so embarrassed that you started a habit of picking up messes right away instead of letting them pile up. Just like in this instance, you can use shame to your advantage in the weight-loss

arena. Keeping a food journal is a humbling experience for many, and one that can turn your bad diet habits into successful weight-loss wisdom. Sure, you want to eat that humongous slice of six-layer chocolate cake, but do you really want to write down in black and white that you actually ate it? Weight-loss wannabes who keep food diaries often experience humiliation at the thought of having to write down certain food

items, leading them to actually forgo the forbidden food in order to save themselves the embarrassment of knowing they really ate it. Tracking your dietary choices can also help you realize why you may not be losing the extra weight you¢ve been trying to get rid of. And when you get good at monitoring and evaluating your food journal and want to kick it up a notch, get a close friend to critique your food diary each day and help point out areas where you might be able to do better. Surely you don¢t want a friend to know you ate that entire pizza by yourself. And why stop with a food log? To really see results, also keep a fitness journal to track your progress. *~*~*~*"You can deprive the body, but the soul needs chocolate" -Sapphyre*~*~*~*"Giving Up Is Not An Option ..." - Sapphyre
