slow but steady (Warning: long rant)

they say that slow but steady wins the race, well hopefully my slow

but steady start will get me there!

I decided to start using the exercise bike. It had been a pain in

the past becuase hubby was using it alot, and the kids were always

playing on it, but not this week! I was able to do 10 minutes on

Monday, and Tuesday, 12 minutes yesterday and 17 today! I most

likely could do longer, but don't want to risk bothering my knee and

then not getting on at all so I am taking it slow. I plan on getting

at least the same number of minutes I did the previous day and then

trying to add a couple of more.

My food has been better, but I am already hearing complaints out of

hubby. He hates veggies and half of what I have been cooking. I am

not sure what I am going to do with him!!! He has mentioned weight

loss surgery a few times over the past few years. I am normally the

one that brings it up, not that I haven't thought about it for years

and years! I actually called yesterday and told hubby what I would

have to do in order to qualify, at least 2 12week monitored weight

loss attempts that have failed. One of which has to be doctor

supervised. I mentioned that I could go see my Dr but with copays

and gas it would be close to $200 in Dr office visits and he

complained that he didn't have the money.

Ok... if this were true it would be ok, but GRRRRRRRrrr not true at

all!!! It really tickes me off that we just went and spent over $800

on clothes for him for work, and I still haven't gotten my Christmas

Gift because I keep saying it's ok it can wait another month because

we have already spent too much money. Yet he can't afford $16 a week

for MY health?!?! The other can be WW, but I have never looked into

the cost of that either. One of my fears with that is gee if I go

will they have a scale big enough?!? Most Dr's offices don't, though

I must say over the past couple of years they have been getting

better about it.

Wow.......... this was not supposed to be a rant, it was supposed to

be how proud I was of myself for actually exercising and eating

around/less then 2000 calories a day, and getting water in. I have

been bad about posting and could make all kinds of excuses, but it

was just sheer not getting to the website to post.

So lets try to end this on a positive note! I went shopping today

and ended up finding alot of veggies on the reduced rack and lots of

40% off already prepared fruit. I am stocked up for a bit now on

lots of healthy foods! I got my exercise in and I am working on my

water!
