": Here it is, the middle of December, and I've wasted just about another whole year. I never seemed to have find the time to exercise regularly in 2007 and, just as bad, my eating habits have been all over the place! I can`t figure out why I have been so self destructive this year.

See, I have exactly 100 pounds to lose. I should weigh 145 pounds but, instead, I now weigh 245! I guess I just keep thinking about that big number 100. Honestly, what do I do?"

Many of you reading this message may, yourselves, have around 100 pounds or more to lose. And I was in your shoes once, too. So I know, the thoughts of losing 100 pounds, or more, can be quite overwhelming. You keep focusing on that little number one, followed by those two big zeros. And you just don't think that you can ever lose that much weight.

And every time you start another diet, you`re all excited. But the excitement wears off as you keep thinking of how much weight you have to shed. But please, stop with all of the fretting!

Losing 100 pounds is really the same as losing 10 pounds. The same philosophy about weight loss must be respected, no matter how many pounds you have to get rid of. Don't think of it as having to lose 100 pounds. Set your initial goal at losing only 10. Yes, just 10.

To lose 10 pounds, it should take you approximately 1 1/2 to two months. And in order to lose that amount of weight, you have to focus on being consistent with your efforts. You have to learn to manage your time daily as you dutifully get in your daily workouts and your healthy meals. And boy, when you lose those first ten pounds, you`ll feel so good that you`ll actually feel 100 pounds lighter!

Oh, I know, sometimes you think the job ahead of you is just impossible. But as you Clubhouse members know, we run success stories in our Clubhouse every month. And as you get to read these stories of success, you often see how many of our successes had as any many pounds to lose as you.

And not only that, but many of these people are also just like you. They have families. They have kids and, of course, they`ve had some of the same ups and downs as you. And at one point in their lives, they also thought like you. They felt it was impossible for them to lose those 100 pounds or more, but...they did it!

So please don`t give into your insecure thoughts. I'm telling you that if you really put your mind, your mouth and...your hips to it, those 100 pounds will disappear and you'll find yourself at the healthier weight you want and need to be.

So remember, think 10 and not a hundred. Now get to work!
