Guest guest
Hope everyone's Friday was nice - it was finally cooler here today. We've been running in the high 90s and low 100s for the past 3 weeks, so today was a nice change to the upper 70s!! WHEW!! Talk about relief!! It looks storm-ish so I hope it stays decent for tomorrow's water aerobics class. Team Potluck went out for a summer afternoon picnic in the park today... complete with families (spouses and children) and it was lovely!! I do have to say I didn't care a lick about what I was eating LOL but I don't think I did too poorly, either. I had a few chips with dip and then a cookie, a brownie and shared pie with another co-worker.... we got a small piece and cut it in half so we could at least taste it. "Diet friendly"? Oh I seriously doubt it. But that's alright. I am sure I can contain any "damage" before Wednesday's weigh-in. Hope anyone living in the San Fran area is safe following the quake today. What was it... 4.2 on the magnitude scale...? (( Hugs to you all )) So, I volunteered to help clean up following the reunion function at ds' high school - only two of us parents showed up! There were others - staff from the school - that helped us pack this up. I should have checked my pedometer before starting!! I did track my time and we went at this for 1.25 hrs - walking back and forth, back and forth hauling tables and chairs inside to clean up!! Quite the sweat worked up!! I called it half/half moderate-high workout, so logged 11 APs for it LOL!! That's alright, that just counteracted any damage I did at the picnic today. I never did eat dinner tonight. I had a little jello stuff (that orange jello, cool whip, cottage cheese, oranges stuff) and a "snak wrap" and "iced coffee" from Mc's after the workout, but nothing "big" for "dinner"...... Anyway - this week's thought has been on activity and keeping things moving to keep losing weight. A co-worker said our muscles have memory and go into homeostasis if we don't change our routines. Dictionary.com definition: –noun 1. the tendency of a system, esp. the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus tending to disturb its normal condition or function. .... so I guess it makes sense that we need to change both our eating and working out routines to keep ourselves guessing!! So, I have to think about this and change around my workouts daily, huh? I'll definitely post on this more. Tonight ended month 3 for the C25K for me. Can you believe that?? WHERE does time fly to? I am going to take measurements when I get up in the morning and see how the numbers have changed this month. Month 4 is almost half and half walking/jogging: like 16/14 and 14/16 walking/running this month. Nice! The jeans I am wearing tonight are so baggy it isn't funny, so after I wash them they are going into the donate pile. I usually give things to my mother and if she can't use them, she takes them to her work, which is a "section 8 hotel" basically housing for the low-low income folks one step above homeless. Sad. Anyway - so after laundry, another couple of pr of pants are going out the door. Nice to get rid of them. I have decided to basically go to dresses/skirts for the time being because they are more forgiving when you are losing weight and things are getting roomy in the clothing department. Less frumpy feeling, ya know? Ok, it is this little girl's time for bed. Actually, I am thinking a nice, toasty shower before heading to bed. If I can get up in the morning and am not too stiff and sore following tonight's workout, I plan to go to Curves before H20 aerobics (( we'll see )).... and if it's "nice" I promised the little boys we'd go to the water slide park tomorrow (Saturday). How cool is that!! I am almost as excited as them about this!! I'll let you know!! Happy Saturday!! in WA310/265.6/155 (WW Flex)Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
