Hon, You've had a rough go of it. Don't worry about supporting us. Take care of you and the rest will follow.

Now for the weight watchers... If I wasn't losing, I'd probably quit and go back to what I KNOW works for me. Just my 2cents.

Sorry to hear about the frustrations you are having with WW . I see in another post that you did decide to drop the WW. I can totally understand how the cost can be prohibitive, especially when you are buying "healthier" foods, which tend to be more expensive. You do have to do what is best for you (and the checkbook too) and if the diabetic clinic eating plan worked, go back to it for sure.

Scales will have the daily/weekly fluctuations, no matter what plan you are following, so just remember that and do not let it get you down. It could be any number of things: sodium, lower water intake, less or more exercise, etc. So, just keep hanging in there and soon the weight will drop.

I would say to do whateverworks for you, esp. if you really can't afford the 40 bucks a month, but could also try to add more whole grains and lean meats and not so much of the processed foods. I do WW and I knoe sometimes its easy to eat a lot of the snacky foods, not sure what kind o0f foods you do eat. But I would say to go with whatever works for you.

Weigh Day

Hi there friends,

How is everyone doing? I'm not doing so good. I am trying to not let the scale make me upset, but it is hard. I have been doing Weight Watchers for five weeks now. When I went in the second week, I had gained a pound. The next week I lost three pounds. The next week I stayed the same, and today I gained another pound. I can't seem to be losing with Weight Watchers. I write down everything I eat and I stay within my points, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good. I'm thinking about quitting and going back to the diabetic clinic's way of eating again. Why pay $39.95 a month if I am not losing the weight. That is a lot of money for us (my hubby and me) since we are on pretty much a fixed income. I just don't know what to do. I have been trying. I really have. I eat a lot more on the WW then my other way. I am just confused. Well, had to vent a little. What would you all do if you were in my shoes (besides go for a walk LOL). Actually I do need to go for a walk, but that isn't an answer to my WW question. Thanks for listening.

I do appreciate you all. Even when I haven't been involved with this group as much you are all still here for me and I really want to thank you. I am hoping that some day I will be able to get myself back involved with you all on an every day occurrence. I know you all need the encouragement too.

Thanks . I think you are right. I am on line right now and I am going to cancel my WW. My sister told me I should apply for a scholarship for the Y and she would go with me. She got one and for her whole family she only pays $16 per month. With it just the two of us (hubby and I) it shouldn't be much at all. So I think I will go there on Monday and see what is what there. There are two Y's in my town.

Hope you are doing well.

Thanks Amy. Yeah that $40 was going to really stretch us thin. I'm going to get my diabetic information out and do that. When I did that and was going gung ho I lost about 60 pounds. Now I have put back on around 20 of it. So the diabetic thing when I do it right really does work. I hope you do better on WW then I did.

I Completely agree with !! You have to do what works for you. Not all things work for everyone, we all know that.

I have had several "friends" lately tell I am nuts to try losing on Slim-fast. I just tell'em it works to I do it! You need to quit doing what doesn't work and find something that does! I totally support you NOT sticking with WW. I used to work for Craig(when I weighed like 150-160), so I went on their plan(discounted food) I only lost like 10 pounds in 3 months, BUT for the whole 3 months I was so miserable, I felt like I was being starved! The thing is I LIKE the plan I am on. Find one you like(that works) and the rest will just flow.

Sue~ I LOVE McDougall. It is such a healthy plan, a bit restrictive

for some.... but wonderful. I have so very many of their cookbooks. I

just think they are great. I look forward to hearing about your

progress.

I'm now back on the McDougall veggie food plan with a few exceptions, like

I'll still have a hard boiled egg now and then, or use whack-em biscuits

instead of making whole wheat hockey pucks. I may not lose weight as fast,

but I'm much happier and not hungry at all, even though my daily average

calorie count is 1400 - 1600.
