Guest guest
Well, I had my first weigh-in after the strength training workout AND the water aerobics. UP 0.8 I'm not that bummed, though, because I half-expected it. When you go from essentially doing nothing to doing something (and I did two different somethings), your body is a little slow to figure out what's going on. The way it was described at WW (weekly topic just happened to be "movement"), your body or your newly-active muscles will hold onto some water until they figure out what's going on and/or you start drinking more water all the time. I know I'm not drinking the water I should. I can actually feel that I'm beyond normal thirst. There's also the issue of muscle mass, although at 270 lbs, even at 40+% bodyfat, there's a fair amount of muscle under there, necessary to lug all this fat around (grin). I guess what I'm saying is, I'll never see 129 again, my forever weight all through my 20's regardless of what I ate. Of course, I was doing a lot of Irish dancing, too, 2-3 nights a week for several hours each. Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it just yet because I know I'm doing the right thing. I plan to work up to the following schedule: M - Cardio at gym, prob in morning T - Water aerobics after work W - Weight training at gym (or, develop a disciplined plan for doing them at home) T- Water aerobics after work F - Cardio at gym Weekend - cardio if I feel like it, but I give myself permission to take the weekend off. Next week, I will aim for cardio twice, and maybe water on Tues. I know if I go gung ho, I will sputter out after 6-8 weeks. I'm actually kind of looking forward to a cardio workout in this gym. I used to be a member of this place two ownership changes ago. It's actually much easier for me now, being downtown and on light rail line, to work there now than it was when I had a car. Parking spaces were gone by 5:45 AM "in the before time" Now it's time for a long hot soak and bed. So much for a wild weekend!
