I`m so happy when I receive email from many of you who have finally been bitten by the exercise bug! Oh, it took me a while to get bitten, too, I`ll tell you. I never was attracted to any form of exercise. Sports in schools totally turned me off. When I was at the park one day and I saw somebody running, I thought they were running away from a crime! Someone call the police!" I said.

It wasn`t until I began putting movement to music that I became hooked on sweat. Oh, and I am! Many of you have sweated at home with me or at a mall or at Slimmons. You have seen me in action, and you know how excited I am to be sharing my love for exercise with you! I wanted to chat with you today about what exercise has done for ME!

First, exercise has helped me to breathe better, for you see, I have had asthma all my life. There were times growing up when my lungs were so heavy that I really didn`t know where my next breath was coming from. I spent many nights in the hospital, more than I care to remember. But when I work out, I also work out my lungs, keeping them strong and full of fresh air!

Exercise makes me feel young! I mean, I`ve been doing my sweatin` movements since I bought my first 45! And in the 70`s, I did my disco points and hip movements just like Mr. Travolta! When I am dancing, I feel like I am just a kid getting to sing, dance, and act silly.

Exercise gives me confidence! I feel so good after an hour workout, and I`m so proud I completed it!

Exercise burns calories, and man, I always need to burn calories! I love to eat, just like the rest of you. At times, I`ve put on a little weight, and I know nothing, hands down, burns lots of calories better than cardio. It`s a "Perspiration Celebration"!

Exercise also helps me have peaceful, sweet dreams! I just want you to know how beneficial exercise will be for your mind, body, and spirit.

Oh, and one more thing that exercise does for me. It makes me feel cute, and I like cute, don`t you?
