Guest guest
's Daily Message FridayDecember 22, 2006I NEED YOUR PRAYERS I hear a lot of very sad stories this time of year. But none sadder than the one I`m about to tell you. I have a dear friend named Lou Ann. She`s a great lady and for a while there, I didn`t hear from her. Well, I just heard from Lou Ann and her news really broke my heart. A few weeks ago, Lou Ann`s husband decided to put Christmas lights all over the house. He got out the ladder and leaned it against the side of the house so he could put lights on the roof. The rest of her family was inside doing their own things. While she was in the bathroom, suddenly, Lou Ann heard some loud banging, like the ladder was slamming against the house`s gutters. She didn`t really think anything about it, at first. But a few seconds later, Lou Ann heard another loud and unusual noise so she rushed out to see what had happened. Outside, she found her husband next to the house, lying motionless on the ground. Lou Ann`s husband had fallen off the roof and as he fell, tried to reach for the ladder but fell to his death. I know how you must be feeling right now. I felt the same way when I got the news. And, as you would imagine, Lou Ann and her daughters are completely devastated. Right now, the three of them are on their way to stay with Lou Ann`s mother for a while. When they return, Lou Ann intends to sell the house and create a new life for herself and her children in a new home, away from the painful memory of the old house. I shared with Lou Ann how very sorry I was for her loss and to let her know, of course, that she would be always in my prayers, especially during such a trying time. She promised to e-mail me from her mother`s house and to let me know how she is doing. Please keep Lou Ann, her daughters and others like them who have lost loved ones, in your prayers. It is so true that none of us know how much time we have left on this earth. We never know just how or when we are going. We only know that we are going and, many times, without warning. If you have lost someone near and dear to your heart, I know you are going through horrible pains and I wish I could be there with you, right now. I hope this weekend that you are surrounded by people you love and cherish. Always find comfort in all that you have and for as long as you have.
