New Member, New Year, New Life...

Hello, My name is Shirley. I am a mother of 3. I have a 7 year old,

6 year old and 3 year old. I started my weight challenges back

during my first pregnancy. I gained 90 pounds bringing me up to

255. After she was born I lost 55 pounds and found out that I was

pregnant with my son. I gained 65 pounds with him. I lost 70 pounds

after he was born. Then I got sick and was in the hospital and

gained about 30 pounds. Then I found out that I was pregnant with my

3rd child and I gained 70 more pounds. In the first year after

Chloe, my youngest was born I had lost 84 pounds and then my best

friend died in a car accident. I became very disillusioned with the

whole body stuggle and focus after seeing her beautiful body, not so

pretty lieing in her casket.

Of course when you lose sight of the desire to keep losing and

becoming healthy, you gain more weight... *sigh* I gained back about

60 pounds. My marriage was on the rocks... I was in an abusive

situation and there were a lot of other stressors that really just

added to everything. Well, needless to say I was divorced on October

17th and I am a single mom of 3 kids. A week ago, I moved out of my

parents and into my own home with my three kids.

So, its kind of neat in a way that I will begin a whole new life and

new year in my new home. I appreciate your support and stories that

you will share with me on this challenge.

It is so overwhelming when you realize that you have over 100 pounds

to lose. I am actually at 270 pounds and I would like to get down to

at least 150 if not less like 130. I just know that I have a long

way to go. I plan to change my eating habits. Eating and excersize

are key things.

I would appreciate to hear where some of you are at in your journey,

whether just starting or are almost finished. It is encouraging to

know I am not the only one in this situation.
