's Daily Message ThursdayDecember 07, 2006UPSET FATIGUE

You didn`t sleep last night because you were upset. How dare that lady in the shiny red Saturn on her cell phone try to cut you off on your way back home! The nerve! You were still upset when you finally got there, and all you did for hours was run and rerun the whole incident in your head. When that happens… who can sleep?

Every day, millions of things can happen to upset you. You could be in the best mood, and in an instant, something happens. Your boss says something to you, or maybe it was your spouse or one of your kids. Maybe the lines were too long at the supermarket and the bank. Maybe you couldn`t find a parking space and drove around for about 30 minutes without any luck. Maybe your computer froze or your heating system went out in your house. Maybe you`re upset with one of your friends or family members. Maybe you have a cold you can`t get rid of or a pet that`s not feeling so perky. Maybe, maybe, maybe….

We don`t know what`s going to happen to us when we wake up in the morning. We don`t know what`s going to be thrown our way. I know so many people who seem to be upset about something every time I hear from them! Once they say hello to me, they spend the rest of the time telling me who or what they`re upset about, and I don`t say a word. I just listen to them, for I am their sounding board.

I know this: if you spend every waking minute of every day upset about one thing or another, you will never have time to enjoy all the parts of your life that are not upsetting, and oh, what a waste of time it is sitting there being so upset! When your mind is in this mode, you don`t do anything to take care of yourself, because you start to not care about you, and being upset a lot just plum tires you out, and also those around you!

Maybe it`s time to jot down why you are so blessed. You`ve done it before, haven`t you? Well, do it again! Try not to let anything upset you today, and I plan to do the same.

Love,

I woke up this morning with a headache and a stomach ache <again> due to my client at work (and work load) and had a good, long meeting with my manager this morning and am having myself phased off my client (CVS) and into others. He's right, it isn't worth it. I worked 11 hours yesterday trying to get or stay caught up and I told her I will do what I have to do to pull CVS through the end of the year, but after that I will *not* work overtime - if they can't give me what I need to get it done in 8 hrs a day, tough beans (yay me for standing up for myself anyway!!) - I am still glad to be transitioning off them.

Eh, this is a whole other email - I have a lot to be blessed for (see Thanksgiving post LOL)

Happy Friday everyone - I am going no mail shortly for the weekend. I have my oral exam tomorrow with the sheriff's office and am going on vacation this weekend for a few days - catch you all on the other side!!

Be good!! LOL!!

YIKES! Am I the only one who sees themselves in 's description?

I've always been a 'glass half empty' kind of gal, but I'm trying to

get over it and change for the better. It's also one of the things

that has really held me back from trying to lose weight. " Why even

bother? It'll just come right back, " I'd think. Now I'm trying to

remind myself that every little bit counts, and that I KNOW I can be

feeling better than I do right now.

I'll keep reminding myself: Baby steps...

Cristie
