MEALS, PART III

When I was a youngster, I went to the movies with Lenny and my mom to see

this drama about a very wealthy family. There was a scene in the movie where

this gentleman in a tux appeared ringing a bell, and when that happened, all

the guests in the living room would come in the dining room for dinner. So

the next day, my mother goes out and gets a bell! One evening right before

dinner, she came into the living room, rang the bell, and told us, " Dinner

is being served in the dining room. " Shirley was such a cute lady!

You know, I do love my breakfasts and lunches, but dinner is a meal I`m in

love with! We family always dined at 6:00 PM. Was 6:00 your eating

time, too? Well, things have changed since the 50`s and 60`s, and now

Americans eat their last meal later and later – sometimes at nine or ten

o`clock at night! Most people in America today stop somewhere and bring home

dinner, eat out, or throw a frozen dinner in the microwave.

I believe this is a meal where most people put their extra weight on! It`s

certainly where I packed on the pounds! You`ve heard the saying, " Eat

breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. " That

means your dinners should be light! There`s nothing wrong with having a

small salad again with balsamic vinegar. Check out the freebie veggies you

can have that won`t cost you a calorie!

Here are two of my favorite dinners. 1/2 cup of pasta with " I Can`t Believe

It`s Not Butter, " a half teaspoon of minced garlic, 1 medium tomato chopped

up, a teaspoon of chopped parsley, 1/2 cup of broccoli, and 1/2 cup of

carrots. That`s 1 starch and 2 vegetables. Or a 3-oz. piece of chicken

breast, grilled, with a small yam, a teaspoon of fat free sour cream, a half

a cup of zucchini, and a cup of minced melon. That`s 3 proteins, 1 starch, 1

veggie, and 2 fruits.

There are bonuses and extras that are free or under 30 calories. Check the

list out in your FoodMover food exchange booklet that came with your

FoodMover or in our Clubhouse. So keep it healthy, keep it light, and your

body will look out of site!

Remember Clubhouse members, tonight is the last auditorium of the year!

Please join me and receive a fabulous holiday present… ME!

Love,
