Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: twinmom2701 > I must be an abnormal woman - because shopping is really hard for me. > I went shopping today and tried on probably 20 things. I found jeans in one brand fit in a size 18, another brand fit in a size 16. We are at a difficult spot for shopping in our weight loss quest. It was so much easier to go to the plus sized department and look at all the clothes. Now I go to petites for pants, misses for knit tops and women's for work tops (button up cotton with a little spandex). Jeans are the hardest. I found some great petite jeans at Kohl's. Before I found those I tried on so many pairs and I was too small for the plus sized jeans and too big for the misses ones. Argh. I found the jeans at a Kohl's in Dallas and, of course, the Kohl's in Houston doesn't carry the same perfect jeans. I need to check the internet. I'm tempted to order 3 pairs in the next smaller size. If it's any consolation, even my skinny friends have trouble finding jeans that fit. Heck, even my 10 year old has trouble finding jeans. Come to think of it so does my 6 year old! Try Lee in 16 and 18. I found some at Penney's in the petite dept. that fit pretty well. Blouses are a hassle too. At Penney's the 1X blouses that I like are too big but the same style in the XL is too small. Grrrr..... I have broad shoulders and a big chest so those XL tops are just too tight unless they are knit. Obviously the only solution is to lose more weight so we can say goodbye to those plus sizes forever! Guest guest
I know what you mean about shopping. Although I love looking at clothes, buying them for myself is so hard. I have to have my personal shopping consultant (dh) along before I can make a decision on anything. Still, I am so excited for you and the fact that you are able to buy the 16/18 sized clothing. That is actually my goal at this point; to not have to go to the plus sized stores/section for clothing. My wake up call was going to Lane and realizing that I was in their largest size. I thought to myself, " Then what? Where do I go from here? When do I start to take control? " Again, congrats on your achievement, and keep up the good work! You're an inspiration! Guest guest
Yeah - I was into a 3X before I got started. You don't see a lot of things bigger than a 3X in regular stores. I's still hovering between departments, but I can't wait to say a fond farewell to the plus size departments forever! > > My wake up call was going to Lane and realizing that I was in their > largest size.
