Guest guest
I was reading 's letter about feeling punished when you can't eat what others are eating and one piece of his advice was if you can't stay on program when you go to a party then don't go.I don't have that problem because all my friends have invested emotionally in my weight loss so they help me when I go to parties. Besides all our parties are always a bring a dish type so I bring fresh fruit and baby carrots, broc, etc with no-cal dips that I invent in the kitchen. But getting back to the point. I think we can't skip parties. We miss so much of life that way. We miss so much of life in other ways too. What about a walking party? This is just a theory because I live in the West Indies so we never get bad weather at this time of year. Couldn't you organise a party where you and friends meet at a park and walk and meander and chat and sing silly Christmas songs at the top of your voices? Maybe take some baked apples stuffed with nothing more than naturally sweet raisins to eat after the walk. Make prizes for the best snow angel, snow castle, longest jump, most unusual thing found during the walk. For Christmas I will be going swimming with my whole family after breakfast. We frequently do beach parties at Christmas. Perhaps walking parties in freezing rain and snow would work?
