I USED TO LOOK DOWN

No one loves talking on the phone more than me! When I was growing up, there

was only one phone in the whole house, and where was it? On my father`s

nightstand next to his side of the bed! It was black, it was heavy, and you

had to stick your index finger in these holes to dial the number. You can

now see phones like this one I`m describing at the sonian Museum. LOL!

Back then, I had 5 minutes to say everything I wanted to say, but only 5,

and did I learn to talk fast! Now my calls are rather long and slow. I

listen very carefully to what each person has to say, as I did when I called

Debbie from Georgia!

Debbie was going with this guy and got pregnant. He wasn`t into

responsibilities, so he left, and Debbie ended up being a single parent to a

beautiful little girl! When Debbie got stressed with life, she turned to one

thing and one thing only – M & M`s, plain and peanut! She kept them at home

and at work. When Debbie would get home from work, she would just sit on her

couch and eat M & M`s while watching television. She admitted to me that she

liked to put 3 M & M`s in her mouth at the same time. Gee, I didn`t want to

tell her how many I used to put in my mouth, LOL!

One day at work, she went to pick something up that was on the floor, and

when Debbie bent over, she could hardly get herself up. Well, that was it.

Her job and her health were more important than anything else! Debbie

decided to say goodbye to her M & M pals and seek healthier foods to eat, and

Debbie began to exercise with an emphasis on cardio.

Debbie`s starting weight was 232 pounds, and now, with a loss of 77 pounds,

Debbie weighs 155! On the phone, she told me she believes with all her heart

that she will win this battle of weight that she has fought since she was a

kid! Now Debbie is 50, fit, and fabulous!

One more thing I want to share with you before you have to run. Debbie said,

" I used to just look down when I walked down the street. I just stared at

the pavement and never looked up. Now I hold my head up high when I walk

down the street, and why? Because I`m very proud to be who I am! "

Think about Debbie`s story today and hold your head up high!

Love,

I used to do that. I am like Debbie now and look up!! Yay!! Say 'hi' to people too... you can tell the ones that are bothered by it, but who cares, eh?!

It's amazing how people react when you smile and say Hi! Ed and I go for a short walk practically every night after dinner, and I always say Hello to people. Most of them look at me like I'm crazy, and Ed just shrugs and gives them a look like Yeah, I know she's crazy! Only a handful, usually the older folk (Yes, there are people older than me out there! LOL) smile and say Hi back.
