Guest guest Posted November 21, 2006 Report Share Posted November 21, 2006 TuesdayNovember 21, 2006 MENDING FENCES Last week, I was at the beautiful Sirius Satellite building in Manhattan so I could have a meeting with all the big radio bosses. I don`t think they expected my show to be a big hit. I mean, there`s never been a show like this before, so there`s no track record, but I heard accolades from all the executives! I`m planning to do a live 3-hour show from New York City in January, so that should be a lot of fun! It`ll be like a big Project Me meeting! As I was going from one meeting to the next, I ran into my dear friend, B., who is the producer of "The Stern Show." ", everyone knows you`re in the building. Won`t you please come in and say hello to ?" Well, you know, it`s been 11 years since I`ve talked to Mr. Stern. It`s not that we had a falling out; it`s just that our lives took different paths. I`ve done the show – I can`t count how many times over the years – but not in the last 11. For some reason, I looked straight in the eyes and said, "Yes, I`ll come say hello to ." I think he was as shocked hearing it as I was saying it! So within a few minutes, I was at the door of `s studio, and I just opened it and walked in. At first, we both were speechless! Robin was a little speechless, too. I walked over to and gave him a hug. Then Robin came out of her booth and gave me a hug, too. It was a great relief for me to see them both! It had been so long, and it was time to mend the fence. Oh, he still threw a lot of zingers at me, but if he is Goliath, I am certainly and can hold my own! We talked about a lot of things: his divorce, his 2 daughters, his new girlfriend. He allowed me to talk about my show, "Lighten Up," and he asked me if I was happy doing it. Then, of course, I brought up my whole crusade about PE, and not only did he support me, but he put a link on his website to mine! I did have some fun laughs there, but it was sort of an out of body experience, if you know what I mean! He asked if I was going to come see him again, and I promised I would. When I`m in New York next, I will have dinner with and his girlfriend! Speaking of New York, I`ll be mending another fence on November 29! Hold your breath, now… I`ll be on Letterman`s show! You can let the air out now! Do you have a fence to mend? You don`t need wood, and you don`t need nails. All you need… is love.
