Guest guest
, To the extent that your POTS is caused by adrenal fatigue, it is possible you could address it without having to wrangle a prescription for Florinef from your doctor. I am taking a Chinese herbal formula (actually one that was adapted from a Chinese formula and made here in the US) called Rehmannia Endurance, made by Planetary Herbals, that has allowed me to stop taking Florinef. It's a general adrenal tonic, and it gives a little energy as well. It might help reduce the whole crash thing you're describing. I'm also taking one dropperful of liquid licorice extract in the morning. The rehmannia formula is out of stock in a lot of stores right now because Planetary Herbals is in the process of changing their source for the raw materials, but I just got a bottle from Vitacost, in case you wanted to get some. It's cheap, also. Ellen >One of the medication used to increase blood volume is Florinef. Not a nice drug but it seems to be effective. You have to check your Potassium regularly (which would be a blood draw) so that is a good option for you, although, I never get my potassium checked as I am only on 0.1 mg. Research Licorice root - I think that also increases blood volume (or blood pressure). I am heading out the door or I would look that up for you.<
Guest guest
hi george - i think i pay $6 for a half liter of saline - with tubinng, needles et al it's less than 10 bucks an infusion.. when they do draw blood ask them to use a big needle - my docs office is now into little 23 butterflies for blood draws...what a waste of time! good luck with whatever you do, deb ________________________________ From: " george6210@... I can stand 1-2 minutes or walk about 30 ft -- sometimes more sometimes less. My blood seems to flow easily during blood draws except the fifth vial filled very slowly. And an EKG which i had immediately following the blood draw started out abnormally. The doctor said " your heart is not getting enough blood. " But it normalized soon after. I'll have to pay more attention to pushing blood volume. I like emergenC or homemade Gookinaid. I've seen NUUN sold also. I had a saline IV about a month following my blood draw but it didn't help much and cost me $200.
