Guest guest
Hello " M.C. " and Everyone - Christmas and Hanukkah blessings to this group at the " most wonderful time of the year. " My response to the vision question is listed, but first: During this season, allow the free, healing gift of rapt attention to what is good and true. Even in the midst of chronic pain, test yourself to see if you might not be a part of a larger whole. Let yourself see, hear, taste, smell and feel at least one free blessing. Where? How? No appointment is necessary; no money need be exchanged. These blessings are around us at all times. Waiting to be noticed. For free. Notice the deep breathe of exhaling when focusing on beauty and what is good. Notice that even our tired, heavy spirits are lifted--even if only momentarily-- from the confines and limits of an imperfect body. A body that wants to sing and dance freely again as earlier in life before sadness and loss settled on us like cosmic dust. Perhaps we even felt cursed and betrayed by what was at once close and reliable. But when we lift our eyes " to the hills " some kind of healing deep within occurs. For me, it happens for example at 3 or 4 AM when roused from sleep, and something draws me to the window. Like last night, when I peered into an inky jet-black sky and saw a brilliant crescent moon blazing in its beguiling orbit over my house along with mesmerizing starry constellations and winter planets--I was at loss for words and felt lifted to a different realm. It's more than this. What we daily experience. The aches and pains. The limits. There is beauty and order beyond our wildest imagination! Find your joy and notice that this best part of you lives and may be the stuff permeating our earth, and beyond, waiting quietly to be rediscovered. Joyful joyful. ---------------- And now my eyesight. Yes, M.C, I too struggle with very blurred vision and exceptionally dry eyes. My doctor found early cataract formation, which was upsetting, but may account for what I am experiencing, especially in any kind of reading as well as night time driving. She also found excessive bacterial build up and Rx'd an antibiotic eye-drop and also a steroidal eye drop. Unfortunately, I cannot use these medications as I've had an allergic reaction to the drug class in the past :-( and prefer not to use steroidal cortisol type meds. A prior allergy doctor over-prescribed them for 15 years. So for now I'm using cleansing eye pads and warm compresses to address the bacterial issue. Doctor said there isn't anything I can do about the early forming cataracts but wait until they create additional vision problems to qualify for cataract surgery! One wonders what might be the cause if early cataracts and exceptionally dry eyes/mouth (almost like Sjgorens Disease). Have any of you with vision issues also had any of these: - pervasive, late Lyme Disease? - use of multitude of meds, including Plaquinil (which affects eyes--used for Malaria) ? - multiple head and body xrays, CT scans and MRIs? Let me know. M.C., I hope your condition isn't this complicated and has a more straight-forward means of healing. Meanwhile, to all of us: Joyful joyful. Don't forget in this special season to notice the many free gifts of healing freely available!
