I read that it's supposed to help with the absorption of both Magnesium and Calcium. The dosage on the bottle of the Malic Acid I just started is an 800mg capsule. I guess it means once a day?? I take magnesium malate (Source Naturals - NFI), which is part of the Pall protocol. Three tablets per day (one serving) - contains 425 mg. magnesium and 2.5 gm of malic acid. Guest guest
Apples, especially green apples (granny smith and pippin) are my preferred form of malic acid. There's nothing like fresh homemade green apple juice, plain or with carrot and celery added in. Maybe malic acid and fiber are the source of the " apple a day keeps the Dr away " ? Guest guest
I tried the Malic Acid 400mg a day and had to stop it. It caused nausea and stomach cramps. I'm not sure if it helped my muscles or not. I wasn't able to stay on it long enough. I could only stay on it about 10 days or so. One thing it helped, which I had no idea it would is my kidney stones. They decreased during the time I was taking it. I'm not sure which type of kidney stones I have yet. I'm waiting on results of the stones I brought in to be analyzed. > > Apples, especially green apples (granny smith and pippin) > are my preferred form of malic acid.
