A new doctor as of yesterday

Just need to vent slightly to people who would understand.

I had a good family practice doctor for the past 5 years, who didn't know much

about CFS/ME but was willing to look at info that I brought in, and willing to

talk with me about it. Then he had the nerve to move to another state!

So yesterday I had an initial " get acquainted " visit with a new doctor at my

family practice clinic. And I do mean new. Just started practicing a year or two

ago, fairly young. As I was trying to tell her about what I referred to as " my

primary illness " of CFS/ME, several times she said, " Well, you look good! " I got

the impression that she was trying to convey the idea that I was really fine, I

shouldn't worry so much. Maybe I'm reading too much into that. At any rate, I

brought in the paper from the International Consensus Committee on their

criteria, and another article that discussed why the new criteria was important,

and she took those and said she'd read them.

So I've started educating a new doctor. I plan to feed her additional info from

time to time. And if you have any other favorite papers or articles for educating

medical professionals new to the CFS/ME world, let me know what they are.

Wish me luck!
