Guest guest
Yes. Heavy Metals have different 'affinities' for removal (not sure if this is related to atomic weights). Basically, they are removed at different rates. so, you could have a challenge heavy metal test (where they use a chelating agent to draw out heavy metals). Here are the issues: 1. you are only given a finite amount of the chelating agent so it will only grab as much as you are given. In other words, if you are given 50cc of the chelating agent (a dosage based on your weight) then you will only have the amount of vitamins/toxins/heavy metals pulled out that 50cc can pull out. 2. You will pull out more than just heavy metals. This will include good vitamins, other easily absorbed toxins then heavy metals. Some heavy metals come out first (aresenic and beryllium for example (based on my personal experience). You may only show a small quantity of mercury removed. Don't be fooled into thinking that you don't have more mercury. Then let's say you keep having chelation treatments every 6-8 weeks then months later, you run another challenge test to see where you are. You are given the same chelation dose but lo and behold, you have a much larger amount of mercury removed. This is because in the months prior, you have been removing all of the toxins/heavy metals that have a higher affinity for the chelating agent. You must continue chelation until no mercury is removed (at that point, you would be removing a little mercury and any heavy metals that are " heavier " than mercury (again, I don't think it's an atomic weight as much as number of electrons - someone scientific can step in here). But brain fog can be from MANY causes, not just heavy metal poisoning (notice I did not specify mercury poisoning - other heavy metals are just as damaging.) For me, food issues improved my brain fog. Specifically, keeping the dietary restrictions of the Yasko/Konynenberg protocol(s). No gluten, no casein, no MSG or other forms of glutamates. I have forgotten some of the restrictions but I keep most of the basic ones. Reducing inflammation has been another big one for me. I do not recommend this - but this is what I have chosen to do. I take Meloxicam 7.5 mg daily. This is an anti-inflammatory and not something I recommend. On days before a big day (on Saturday, before Church on Sunday, I will take an extra 7.5mg which gets me through the day). We each have to decide what we are willing to accept in terms of risk. As far as GI issues, I feel Meloxicam is okay for me. I wish I didn't have to be on it but the difference it makes in my life is important to me. While I am not working, I feel that I could be soon - especially when I pair Meloxicam with Valtrex, ATP Fuel and high dose Vitamin C. Last note: regarding copper and iron - please review the reasons why autistic children cannot have these and determine if you fall into the same category. If you are going to try these, do them one by one and track your symptoms. Personally, my son and I take an iron-free and copper-free multi vitamin. I think zinc is fine for our population but I would have to double check that. HTH, Marti > > Dumb question- can you have mercury poisoning if a heavy metals test is negative? I have recovered a lot of energy but the brain fog persists. It is much better, but not enough to hold onto a real job. > Does anyone know anything about the parasite blastocystis hominis? I know it is prevalent, but what if it is in a heightened state of growth? Anyone familiar with copper and zinc treatment?
