Guest guest
Marti and Dolores, Please ignore the questions about syringes and 50mg ... I found the info online. Liz
Guest guest
Hi Marti, Sugar normally triggers not only pain for me, but also brain fog. But, alarmingly of late, the day following a sugar binge I'm feeling better than normal. The only thing I can think of is that " the beast has been fed " , and I need to be more diligent about anti-yeast products and probiotics. I've been on replacement dose HC for 4 yrs, so I'm doubtful I could go off, but then again I don't have any reason to. I did read on one of the LDN boards that replacement doses of corticosteriods does not interfere with LDN, so I'm less worried now. I'm wondering if you could find a dosage of both HC and Florinef that would work for you? I think I remember reading on NTHA that others were successful with that. I'm going to see a Dr tomorrow (Tuesday) that will prescribe LDN for me; for a number of reasons, I want it in my medical records. My inital thought was to get started on compounded LDN, and then switch to All Day Chemist as a source to save money. Then I saw generic Naltrexone HCL in my insurance formulary, and since my co-pay is low I thought I'd go that route and mix it myself. Using ADC as a means to do trials on drugs is a good thought; learn a lot with the least amount of hassle. Thanks for that, I may go that route in the future! And thanks for telling me your brain objected to injections after a while too .... I don't feel quite so " odd " now. Liz [spam] [spam] Re: Updates from those on Low-Dose Naltrexone therapy? Hi There, ***I am discovering that sugar is a trigger for my POTS. ***Yes, you remember correctly! I was on 20mg of HC cream for 9 months. I did feel worse getting off but was testing some other things. I am considering getting back on and perhaps dropping florinef (for my POTS) ***I started at 0.5mg (diluting the 50mg pill in 50 ml of water (I use a small Claritin OTC bottle - perfect size). I ramped up to 4.5 in about 30 days. Rather rapid ramp up but I didn't experience any side effects except perhaps a little alertness. I took Klonipin and my doc switched that out for Elavil which is supposed to help my POTS. That helps me fall asleep. ***I saw your message and All day chemist is where I order my LDN and many other things as well. I order Valtrex and other meds that I want to try but don't want to hassle with a docs prescription. I have been able to purchase small amounts (10 tablets) of various drugs and I do a solid test by getting of most meds and doing a quick trial. I used to inject glutathione and after 2.5 years, I started to resent the injections and my brain did the same thing! That's when they started to really hurt because I was tensing my muscle. Before then, they did not hurt, I could leave the needle in and take my time. Very disconcerting! Let me know if you have additional questions. Don't forget to search the archives for more info. I have not noticed an increase in yeast but we are all different. What side effects do you know of from gluten and casein? Here is more in case it's of interest to anybody: === I got 2.5mg small capsules with inactivated acidophilus, immediate release, from a compounding pharmacy. Acidophilus in probiotics does not bother me that I know of. I asked specifically about fillers beforehand. I called the pharmacist after the events to confirm: was the powder mixed? yes so you can split. was it non-dairy, non-refrigerate, ir acidophilus? yes. did you use crushed tablets? she did. YES THEY WERE CRUSHED TABLETS. I had reasonably assumed from what she said that acidophilus was the only filler. It never occurred to me to screen her for crushed tablets. Not sure I want to go back there again. I eyeballed the dosages to 0.5mg and about 1.5mg from the 2.5mg. QUESTION: could the crushed tablets be the reason for severe nausea and vomiting and diarrhea and so on at that dose? A 50mg (?) tablet crushed into 2.5mg chunks, then split further by me. I don't otherwise react to even full tablets that way that I know of. So I have no strong reason to believe it's the crushed tablets. The nausea (and sinuses, diarrhea, etc.) lasted at least 10 hours from waking to 7pm at which time I vomited (large stomach contents). At 2pm or so it got severe. The nausea continued, but it was mostly weakness and PEM. I had taken the LDN the night before, of course. That is a very long time to have severe nausea especially if you are bedridden. I need to research ipecac or whatever it is people use to induce vomiting. I now have some antinausea tablets. I also want to know what the connection is between LDN and MOLD. === -- The Kafka Pandemic: http://thekafkapandemic.blogspot.com I support WPI: http://www.wpinstitute.org/xmrv/index.html === I want to see the original (pre-hold) Lo et al. 2010 NIH/FDA/Harvard MLV paper. Guest guest
Ah, I thought you had a protocol in mind that was available online. Not sure he'd know a referral near me who does house calls (I am bedridden).
