According to the Equilibrant website, it appears to balance Th1/Th2

immune response, that may classify it as an 'Immune Modulator'.

Al, I am from Hawaii. I flew to LA and spent 3 hours with Dr. Chia and he

prescribed Oxymatrine (which is the essential ingredient in Equilibrant). He

also told me to get a stomach biopsy from a gastroenterologist, send it to him

and he would assess it for viral infections....I am positive for Enterovirus

infection which he believes causes my CFS. I stayed on 9 pills/day for 8 months

with no effect. He told me to stop after 8 months...only 50% of patients respond

to Oxymatrine (Equilibrant).

Worth a try...i had no negative side effects

Good luck

Ingredients reported to include:

Astragalus, Sophora Root, Olive Leaf, Licorice Root, Shittake Mushroom, Vitamin

A, D, Calcium, Selenium.

Selenium is a thryoid kicker, may aggravate some Hashi pts.

Unclear how much of everything is in the formula, which would

be critical in how it acts, and who it may aggravate. They

have deliberately tried to keep that secret as a proprietary

formula.

Many people are already taking the A, C, Calcium, and/or

selenium in their basic supplements.

We might assume astragalus is the leading herb here,

an inexpensive classic TCM spleen tonifier herb if purchased

separately, and may raise white count in some people, and

can aggravate many persons with autoimmune diseases if used

in sufficient amount.

Licorice root is in here to support

adrenals, keeps cortisol in the system longer,

but depending on total amount used per day, can easily

be deranging to water balance and electrolytes.

There are very few herbal formulas suited to everyone

(possibly some short term liver cleansing?). People need

to know and understand what they're getting in a formula,

and whether it may suit their own case or have a high risk

of aggravating it.

Not everyone needs to " boost their immune system " ,

especially persons who have autoimmune diseases,

high Ayurvedic pitta tendencies either constitutionally or

acutely, or medium to higher-end or high (above ref range)

white (WBC) counts.
