Guest guest
I dont get on these groups very often these days but I wonder if I could ask the group a quick question. I just wondered if anyone on the group had experience of other family members " catching " the bug that set off their M.E. or set off a relapse. I had a severe viral infection back in 2003 and this set off a severe relapse. I have been fragile ever since and am now housebound. The odd thing is I got married while still suffering from the virus and many of my relatives attended the wedding. My aunt and two of her children developed atrial fibrillation a month or two after my wedding. Just before one of my cousins developed the heart problem she went through a brief (1 week) viral infection with similar symptoms to my longer lived infection. I thought I would ask if anyone else had experience of family members being affected. Incidentally a neighbour of mine who had two children with longstanding M.E. died of prostate cancer. He was in his late seventies so I guess it could have been a pure coincidence. Then again it set me thinking that XMRV or whatever may affect family members due to proximity or genetics. Thanks in advance
