Guest guest
Hi , I am in a good place with my adrenals. I spent 9 months on 20mg of hydrocortisone and that has helped rest my adrenals. In addition, I did unrefined sea salt, ashwaganda and licorice root. My adrenal insufficiency must have been very minor as it responded well to the 9 month trial. I could never tell if I was stage 4 or stage 7 as both stages have same symptoms so I must have been stage 4. (stage 7 is the last ditch effort of adrenals putting out cortisol so you have high cortisol in the a.m.) Then I fixed my circadian rhythm by taking l-theanine. 100 mg at bedtime has been a lifesaver as over the years my schedule was asleep by 3-4am and awakening 12 hours later feeling awful. I wake 6 hours after bedtime around 11:00pm and feel more refreshed - not yet like a normal person though. My thyroid is working better as I have been on tyrosine for 9 months and on thyroid medication for about a year. Then I have been tackling viral issues with Valtrex 500mg which has been an improvement over using regular acyclovir at a higher dose. Not doing much for bacteria but I am hoping the LDN will work on the immune system and so kick off a few of the bacteria. So, I agree with your doctor and probably should have waited 6 months after starting LDN before starting HCG. I thought I was buying HGH and followed the instructions when I realized it is a different product. Once I started, I wanted to continue the first cycle. And, I am hoping that this might reset my hypothalamus in conjunction with the LDN so I am expecting to be on it for 3 cycles so weight isn't my biggest goal. I have no idea if that is how it works but it came to me as I researched LDN and HCG after I realized it was not HGH. I am eating a higher quality of food, eating more vegetables than I normally do and eating more RAW vegetables than I did before. So even though my intake is less, I think it is a better diet than I was on before (which was pretty healthy before compared to most people). What I am not getting right is the caffeine cleanses and the blood purifiers/charcoal. As the fat is being removed, toxins are being removed and while I have had some bad days, I should be doing the toxin removal/absorption every day or so, just in case. This could be causing strain on my liver/glutathione/antioxidants. I am viewing this as the second biggest risk. The biggest risk is jerking my hormones around as HCG is pro=progesterone. I am not taking my 50mg of natural progesterone at during the HCG trial just to reduce the risk of any prog. overload (activating fibroids and other things). Sara, you asked (back-channel I think) how my weight progressed. Hope its okay that I answer here - I lost 8 pounds the first week but was highly stressed during the end of that week so my weight loss was zero the last few days(proves the insulin resistance theory when stressed). Normally, it is two pounds each day for the first week then dropping to 1 pound a day. Then I lose about a pound a day when keeping to the diet. My son is home from college and my diet is a little wacky so my loss has been minimal. We have eaten out a few times and it seems that if I add a soda to the meal, I gain 2 pounds the next day but if I have water, then the extra fat and carbs does not seem to make much difference. I may gain 1 pound or just stay the same. Very interesting as you can gain very quickly if you do the injections and not follow the diet. But the bulk of my nutrients are coming from the fat the injections are releasing as some days, I don't feel like eating at all and the 500 is almost impossible to get in and I have lost 2 pounds by the morning. There are other days that I am hungry so I have a third meal of 100gms of lean meat and 100mg of vegetables as I am not interested in harming myself. I have found that I may still lose a pound or a half a pound. On a final note, I am finding that taking 2000mg of acetyl l carnitiine and adding 500 mg of taurine increases the weight loss. I have not taken these before the HCG so it is a possibility that those two are the cause of the weight loss! That would be a hoot! I will be able to test that soon as my 40 days for the first cycle are coming up June 12. So in 30 days, I have lost 15 pounds, the bulk of that in the first week. (mostly because I have been cooking real meals for my son who is on a high protein, high fat diet, low carb diet) and so have been cheating. Sorry this is long, just thought I would lay it out if it helped anyone. , I am surprised that your doctor and 's doctor friend would know of this. I am not getting a doctor's help as I do not have a good ME/CFIDS doctor. I am curious to know what your doctor thinks would be a benefit beyond weight loss. Are there applications to ME/CFIDS patients for reversing the illness and in what way? Marti > > > Hi Sara, > > The diet is going well. I am not hungry on the 500 calorie diet. Any desire to eat is out of the habit of snacking or boredom. There have been a few days that I could only get 360 calories in. My arm muscles did ache a little the day after those days so I assumed that I wasn't getting enough protein. (I was also quite active cleaning house so my arms could have been sore from that). So, I make sure that I eat my daily ration of protein as per the diet. >
