Guest guest
What foods are high in Vitamin A? My eyes have been sore and red for 8 weeks following a cold - I am typing with my eyes closed and this will be my computer time for the day. I have a difficult time tolerating supplements. I do not tolerate Vit D at all so that eliminates fish oil. I saw an eye specialist last week who said that I had the eyes of an 80 year old, severe Vitamin A deficiency, he suspects kidney problems. He is writing to my doctor to test for fasting blood sugar and kidney tests. He took one look at me and said, " kidneys " . I couldn't think after that and when he recommended cod liver oil, I forgot to tell him that I don't tolerate Vit D in any amount. It is always difficult when I need to see a doctor - I so rarely am well enough to keep the appointment and brain fog takes over when I do manage to get there. I always bring notes but doctors are always rushed and that only makes it harder to think when something unexpected comes up. I also have 's disease and I've been on replacement steroids for two years. This illness destroys the soul as well as the body. I had two appointments last week, one short dental one and one with the eye doctor. I knew this was heavy overload and that I would pay, but I had no idea how severe the aftermath would be. Since then, I have been so weak physically and emotionally, that I could not tolerate anyone speaking to me. I suspect that the steroids in some way affect CFS (XMRV supposedly has a cortisol receptor - too exhausted and brain fogged to remember those details). But for now, if anyone has any ideas about how I can get some Vitamin A into my body without fish oil, I would be so grateful. I don't tolerate most supplements but if I can't find anything else I will need to try taking a Vit A supplement. I feel completely overwhelmed. I also have high parathyroid numbers and am being monitored for hyperparathyroidism, but I forget what I research and at present, can spend very little time on the computer. I do not have good medical care; doctors have no idea how to treat my mish mash of diagnoses. I am in my mid-sixties, twenty years with this illness. For the most part, I have given up searching, am mostly resigned, but I would like to be able to use my eyes. Sorry this is so jumbled. F.
