Guest guest
I feel better and almost more energetic after I take Klonapin. Can anybody explain why that would be? The klonapin (clonazepam) is supposed to make you sleepy.
Guest guest
Klonapin relives anxiety. Anxiety causes fatigue; therefore; you have more energy. I notice the same thing though I use Ativan, but used to use Klonopin. I prefer Ativan for sleep to Klonopin that's why I use it although Klonopin does a better job with anxiety. Guest guest
, I've heard others say the same, particularly with Klonapin. I'm not well versed on this but will try to give some insight, then maybe someone else who's more knowledgeable can fill in the rest or correct this. Klonapin is a benzodiazepine like xanax and valium. I don't know if there is something particularly different with Klonapin, but it should have the same action as all benzodiazepines. In Wikipedia, these reactions are listed as rare: Rage, excitement, impulsivity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clonazepam That type of reaction is more characteristic of benzodiazepine withdrawal. I'll list those at the bottom. Essentially, my guess is that you may be taking something that blocks the receptors that benzodiazepines hit. Any other sedative, steroid or alcohol would have similar effects, many other meds or supplements may interact. Prior extensive use of any of those could cause either overly excitable receptors or dampen the receptors ability to receive the medication. My second guess is that everything is working fine with the receptors, but your adrenals are hyper-sensitive. I'm also not well versed on this either, but I'd guess that your adrenal glands may be releasing their goods which would cause your reaction. In either case, it's not the normal response to the medication suggesting you are not processing it correctly and seem to have a withdrawal reaction. You may want to ask your doctor about trying a different benzodiazepine to see if you have the same effect. Below is a comprehensive list of benzodiazepine withdrawals from: http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzcha03.htm#2 Best Wishes, R -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE 1.
