Guest guest
Hi, Isoprinosine is available in France over the counter and has been for years. People seem to use it alot for allergies. Itis made in France by Sanofi-Aventis. Someone I knew who was visiting there was able to pick up some for me and they cost about 10 euros for a box of 40. If anyone reading this has relatives or friends in France, or speaks good French, please share this info with us. My hope has been that we could set up a relationship with a pharmacy there and order it directly from France. As long as you hold a prescription in the country they are mailing it to, things should work well. Please respond here or to my email if you have any ideas about how to go about this. Guest guest
Hi Libby, I lived in France before moving to Oregon and have many British and other expats friends living in France. I'll put a word out and see if anyone feels comfortable sending me some. Setting up a relationship with a pharmacy to export medication will be difficult, the EU has strict rules and regulations for doing so. But we can certainly try and see if a pharmacy in a heavily expat populated area would be willing to do it, dealing with custom export forms is not fun and it would need to be a pharmacy who is already used to dealing with this. Will let you know what I find out. -- Portland, OR On Sep 5, 2009, at 4:28 PM, libbyboone01 wrote: > Hi, > > Isoprinosine is available in France over the counter and has been > for years. Guest guest
Sue, I know it's available in Canada, but I don't see why I would have to pay $250 in Canada if it's elsewhere available for $40 or even $10. I already pay thousands for my supplements and other meds that my insurance does not cover I need to find the cheapest source for this, whether that is Canada, Ireland or France. I was hoping someone would have a lead to a source in maybe Ireland or Mexico for this. -- Portland, OR On Sep 5, 2009, at 6:54 PM, Sue wrote: > its available in canada
Guest guest
Hi - I have been taking Inosine (hypoxanthine riboside), the basic amino acid version of Isoprinosine. It is sometimes on the shelf at body building or specialty vitamin stores, but now getting 'Ultimate Nutrition' Inosine from this internet site: http://shop.ultimatenutrition.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/47?osCsid=da\ 8f87f3dc. Each container has (100) 500 mg capsules for $19.95 USD, or about .20 per capsule. I take 2 to 4 per day. Doug
Guest guest
Hi Libby, are you sure its available OTC in France? In the UK it is prescription only. If it is OTC in France then it should be very easy to order. All we need to do is find the name of a French online pharmacy. If it is OTC then it should be easy to order from there. Plus it would help to know what the product made by Sanofi-Aventis is called in France. So anyone know what the OTC product is called in France? garcia. > > > > Hi all, > > > > My dr. prescribed me Isoprinosine /Imunovir and has left it up to me > > where to order it from. > > > > He uses a pharmacy in Canada but says there must be better prices. > > > > A bottle of 100 tablets of 500 mg will cost me $180 USD. Guest guest
I found this page online: http://sante-az.aufeminin.com/w/sante/m3222741/medicaments/isoprinosine.\ html <http://sante-az.aufeminin.com/w/sante/m3222741/medicaments/isoprinosine\ ..html> which suggests that it doesn't need a prescription. Also its listed as 10 euros for 40 tablets, so is incredibly cheap. I tried to look for an online pharmacy which sold it but couldn't find any. garcia. > >>> > >>> Hi all, > >>> > >>> My dr. prescribed me Isoprinosine /Imunovir and has left it up to me > >>> where to order it from. > >>> > >>> He uses a pharmacy in Canada but says there must be better prices. > >>> > >>> A bottle of 100 tablets of 500 mg will cost me $180 USD. Guest guest
I had 5 friends in France check ask their (different) pharmacists who has a position second to God in that country, about Isoprinosine and all reported back that is is not available OTC. I already thought so, the fact is was listed as eligible for reimbursement made me think that one would need a prescription. Often the pharmacist in France knows more about medicine and gives better advice than a Medic and it's very normal to consult them on all medical stuff and illnesses before heading to mr. docteur and tell him what kind of medication you need cq want. Before the new regulations in France is was also normal practice if you didn't get that medication you went to another dr. One could see easly 7 different dr. a day and end up with the medication. That's how France became nr 1 in the world on antibiotics use. Anyway, I'm still working on a lead to get it shipped from France will keep you posted. -- Portland, OR On Sep 7, 2009, at 5:03 AM, jgarcia3788 wrote: > I found this page online: > http://sante-az.aufeminin.com/w/sante/m3222741/medicaments/isoprinosine > .\ > html > <http://sante-az.aufeminin.com/w/sante/m3222741/medicaments/isoprinosine > \ > .html> > > which suggests that it doesn't need a prescription. Guest guest
http://www.newportpharmaceuticals.com/ would accept USA prescriptions. I'm not sure if they still do. It's also available from other counties , to USA , without a script.
Guest guest
I wrote the company and got this reply, as I already stated in other messages EU law forbids filling foreign prescriptions. -- Many thanks for you email. We also hold the license for the product in several other territories around the globe. In these above territories either we or our established distributors handle the product via the approved official distribution channels. Please be aware that Imunovir/Isoprinosine is not licensed for any indications in the USA and therefore we do not distribute the product there. Finally under EU law we are unable to fill any prescription for a medicinal product. Guest guest
Hi , Sorry for the belated reply. As I think I said in another post?, a friend studying in France ordered it at her neighbourhood pharmacy in Burgoigne (sp??), paid for it with a credit card, and mailed it to me in New Zealand. The pharmacist did not have to sign anything. My friend simply had to sign the usual customs form for the mail. Once is reached NZ, it was intercepted by " Medsafe " (my friend indicated on the package that the parcel contained " medicines. " ) I sent my Rx to Medsafe. They sent me the isoprinosine. That was it. All legal and legit. Cheers Libby > >>> > >>> Hi all, > >>> > >>> My dr. prescribed me Isoprinosine /Imunovir and has left it up to me > >>> where to order it from. > >>> > >>> He uses a pharmacy in Canada but says there must be better prices. > >>> > >>> A bottle of 100 tablets of 500 mg will cost me $180 USD.
