Guest guest
Hi Rich, Kurt and All, I just want to let everyone know that when I sent my results from my Acumen test to Yasko, I asked for my money back and she gave it to me!! She entirely missed by extreme need for magnesium and the urine metals test were coming back in her words as " a dud. " Her program lowers protein to promote detox. Protein slows down detox and Rich is right, CFS people need that protein. I still continued on the simplified program, but I think it is a non-starter for me. I have now been on it for 3 years The fact that Yasko is so focused on her theory and could miss the magnesium issue, even tho she had in front of her the MAP test, worries me. The fact that she gave me my money bsck, I think speaks volumes. Janet
Guest guest
Janet Can you tell me more about magnesium and it's relationship to CFS when you have time I have not heard of this Use a back channel if you want Steve On Sep 27, 2009, at 6:45 PM, jgstev50 wrote: > Hi Rich, Kurt and All, > > I just want to let everyone know that when I sent my results from my > Acumen test to Yasko, I asked for my money back and she gave it to > me!! > > She entirely missed by extreme need for magnesium and the urine > metals test were coming back in her words as " a dud. Guest guest
Hi Janet, Thank so much for telling us what have happened to you with Dr. Yasko. I'm sorry for that. I too think she is too focused on autism, and there're certain IMPORTANT things she misses in PWC's, like our need for protein intake. Another mistake I think she does is to rely so much in the urine elements. There're some markers that can be completely opposite in blood and urine (no wonder in RBCs). E.g., taurine, when a dysbiosis is present, uses to be high in urine, but low in blood. The same for ammonia, that can be nearly at zero in blood, and high in urine (as it serves to alkalinize the urine…). The same again happens with lithium, and I guess also with magnesium. I have several times asked her about that, but always respond that she manages with urine and that when she has had the change to compare, the results were similar… Well, said that, I do want to emphasize that I do think she is one of the more " cutting-edge " (leader), and smarter researcher and therapist in autism and many other illnesses, and her work has and is serving to many other researches to open his/her mind to a new way of facing many diseases. I thing it is also fair to understand that she interprets the tests in a few minutes, and in order to study in depth the probes of a person with CFS, you need several hours. (For example she missed an acute cyanide poisoning on me, and it was Rich (thanks good!), after a thorough study on my case who found this problem. Of course I understand Dr. Yasko couldn't do that in a few minutes. I also think mitho issues is secondary, and believe that the low GSH plus the subsequent partial methylation cycle block (as Rich's theory states) is at the root of the CFS. However, I think we need to find a treatment to recover this, as after these changes occurs, others issues come into play, like infections or toxins, and it is not enough in many cases to just restore the methylation cycle to reach a cure, as we are not designed to cope with all these staff all at once… So we need to find solutions, new therapies that can help us to recover our methylation cycle and therefore, our immune and detox system, our redox status, etc., in order to really overcome CFS. This is why we have opened the forum I think you already know: http://www.me-cfsmethylation.com/ with a broader scope, in order to find that therapies we DO need, but still thinking that the methylation cycle restoration must be considered as an essential part of the treatment approach. I wish we have one " Dr. Yasko " focused on CFS, instead on autism…Of course Rich is fabulous, but unfortunately he is not a therapist, and therefore we need some doctor willing to " dive " into the biochemistry of CFS, as Rich does, but who also can develop a clinical protocol (and " carry it into practice " ) to really be able of curing the illness. Well, just a few thoughts. Regards,
Guest guest
Janet You say your UTMs were a dud. So you weren't excreting much or any metals? Also, where can we see your Acumen results? I would like to compare. Also, did you have that high intracellular calcium that john howard is finding in some people? If so, what are you doing about it? Thanks L. > > Hi Rich, Kurt and All, > > I just want to let everyone know that when I sent my results from my Acumen test to Yasko, I asked for my money back and she gave it to me!! > > She entirely missed by extreme need for magnesium and the urine metals test were coming back in her words as " a dud.
