Iron chelation is a *side effect* of IP-6, also chelates some other minerals that we normally consider nutritional, though I have heard of some people taking IP-6 specifically FOR iron chelation, or thinking about trying it for that. IP-6 is mild and, by itself, I question whether it would be a good answer for the high ferritin problem. It's used therapeutically in powdered form acutely or short term for panic attacks - I think it's especially suited to the TCM Deficient constitution, good to " have around " for that for occasional use as needed. IP-6 is inositol hexaphosphate, a specialized form of inositol. Consider doing some of both? Carol W. willis_protocols
