Guest guest
Edith, Thanks so much for the info. And moderator, thanks so much for reminding me to take it with a grain of salt! These studies are all so confusing, and they skew the stats to get what they want if they can. But I do think childhood abuse can probably have some effect on lots of stuff later in life, emotional and physical. Can it hardwire your brain to make you susceptible to CFS later in life? How the heck would anybody know that???? Sincerely, Jody

Guest guest
I was re-evaluated by Social Security yesterday. I bet you can guess the type of doctor I had to go to. A Psychiatrist of course! I told him that I had also (in addition to CFS and Fibro.) been diagnosed in the past with depression, PTSD and Somatization Disorder. He said that Somatization Disorder is caused by trauma/abuse in earlier life and it causes physical symptoms, which go on to actually make you sick. He suggested I get into therapy and that getting things out would possibly help my symptoms. He said that the symptoms are caused by not getting the feelings/emotions out. I'm sure at least part of my symptoms are caused by things in my childhood. I was always sick as a child too. I'm going to try the therapy (again) and see if it will help at all. I'm really tired of being housebound and feeling sick and tired all the time. I'm at the point that I'll try anything. Sue
Guest guest
In my case CFS was triggered by childhood Trauma Therapy has helped but I found that CFS has a life of it's own and I have to treat it as well S " The important thing is not to stop questioning. Guest guest
Here another opinion, by Pamela Weintraub: http://blogs.psychologytoday.com/blog/emerging-diseases/200901/chronic- fatigue-syndrome-child-abuse-disordered-patients-or-disordered This appears to be just another study that involves everyone who feels tired. but suffers mostly from psychological issues.
