Guest guest
Several nights a week I will have a sudden sensation of stinging/burning in my eyes, followed by them watering. For reference, the feeling probably compares to opening your eyes in a highly chlorinated pool. Anyone experience anything similar or have any idea what might be happening? Guest guest
That could be mold or it could be glaucoma. You need to see an eye doctor. There are treatments for it that help, but don't cure. Check with your doc and an optomologist who's familiar with it. If you're near a university with an optometry school, that's a great place to get your eyes checked out. In the meantime, try Theratears drop and gel - local drugstores should have it. hth, Judith > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Brad, I used to have simliar burning eyes every day. I went to an eye doctor, had the normal screenings, told him this symptom, and he prescribed eyedrops called Cromolyn Sodium. I use them 1x day and night, and have relief from the stinging. The burning returns if I don't use them, so I've stuck with this for several years. Another eyedrop I tried relieved eyes at first, then caused rebound effect...worsening of the symptoms with use. { I just remembered there is an eyedrop brand in the health food store...something like Symilin? They had been helpful for awhile, too} TC, Katrina > > Several nights a week I will have a sudden sensation of > stinging/burning in my eyes, followed by them watering. Guest guest
I hope it's not the case for you, but it sounds like what I experience with electrical hypersensitivity. People with M.E, M.S, S.L.E, M.C.S, tend to be nicely represented amongst sufferers. It tends to be worse at night, and is brought on with exposure to lights (TV, computer), and car travel is quite bad too. In my case it's not transitory. Take note of what you're doing when it comes on, you might get an answer. From: bradkitt@... Guest guest
I agree to watch for these triggers! I have many of them, too environmentally and activity-related. Besides avoidance, No. 1, it has really been a blessing to me to lessen the effects, and avoid cascading effects with the eyedrops I have used. Results of course will vary among us, as true with *everything* Katrina > > > I hope it's not the case for you, but it sounds like what I experience with electrical hypersensitivity. Guest guest
My eyes feel like that when I over do it. That's how I felt all the time when I was very sick. I came back from work this morning and took a shower. I am wiped out and my eyes are burning and watering. I need to put down this computer, close my eyes and rest a bit. It will get a bit better. If it doesn't, I drink my Dr Teitlebaum, from Fatigued to Fantastic drink, which always helps. It has vitamins and amino acids (L glutamine and taurine, seem to be the ones that help the most). It's a life saver for me. Carol in LI, NY **************You're invited to Hollywood's biggest party: Get s updates, red carpet pics and more at Moviefone. I was told at the beginning of my " CFS " that I was positive for Cytomegalvirus (one of those nasty herpes viruses kids get) that is supposed to effect the eyes so I wondered if this is reactivated when I get this systme. Guest guest
Chronicly burning eyes that can't be traced to some product being used around the face etc, sometimes it's a biotin deficiency and the person needs high biotin, like 1000-2000 mcg biotin twice a day, with morning and evening meals. If biotin level is the problem, you'll get full relief in 1-7 days. If not, biotin level is not the problem. So it's a cheap experiment. Biotin is in the B-vitamin family. I've had best results with Country Life brand Biotin. [see also my " dry eye, dry mouth " article, at url below] Carol W. willis_protocols Articles in Files.
