Guest guest
Hi and thanks to everyone for their replies. I hope they'll keep coming. , it think it is partially a psoriasis thing, but different in a way. No itching, but definitely drier over the hairier parts of my face. Still, it's very thin and dry in other places too, except my forehead which is always oily. But my eyebrows, dry and flaking like crazy! Thanks Marti for the recipe...I'll look into that. And Nil, I haven't tried the blood pressure thing -- lying down and sitting up -- but will if I can get a doc's appt. She's only there twice a week, and it's been three weeks and she has yet to respond to my letter about my low iron levels. I'll call tomorrow. But I'm sure adrenal problems are an issue...tons of stress over the last six months, and worse this past 4-5 days. Still also looking into zinc deficiencies and fatty acid imbalances (per the Kane Protocol). If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm all ears! Thanks again, d. > > Hi Dan > > This is sign of low cortisol and/or DHEA. > > May I give you a simple test to check. > > put the BP monitor on > lie down calmly for 10 minutes and rest > than get your bp > loosen the calf while lying down and rest for three more minutes for the > veins to return normal > stand up and take another reading immediately > second reading should not be less than the first one. Guest guest
> > > Thanks Marti for the recipe...I'll look into that. > Dan, I am not sure that you should try the Epsom salts now, as I did research and found that the salts are drying. I think that might make it worse. My skin feels the opposite - very hydrated but I would hate to make this worse for you. For the drying and flaking - have you tried vinegar. Sometimes, we get fungus and bacteria and it is not bad enough to itch but bad enough to be a problem. I love vinegar rinses - I used to be a dog breeder and weimaraners have very sensitive skin and my puppies would have skin issues in the humid early summer. Vinegar rinses every day for 5 days and the fungus or whatever was gone. Just another thought (for the dry, flaky hairy parts of your face (not the thinning, sensitive parts)) Marti

Guest guest
Hi,Dan, People who are " lactose-intolerant " have this skin problem too. I had. Went away after only 3 days of diet. Maybe good to look into? Greetings, Dirk > > > > > > Thanks Marti for the recipe...I'll look into that. > > > > Dan, > I am not sure that you should try the Epsom salts now, as I did > research and found that the salts are drying. Guest guest
That's interesting Dirk, I hadn't heard that. I was wondering, do you take a calcium supplement (or supplements) in place of any dairy you were eating/drinking? Did you have a lot of gas or other problems when you consumed dairy? My problem is I haven't been able to find a calcium supplement that 'works'. If I stop drinking a glass of milk (mornings and evenings) then within a day or so I'll bolt out of bed with strong leg cramps. I'd like to stop dairy, believe me, as I know it contributes to my digestive/yeast issues, but so far...I haven't found a replacement. Any ideas would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks Dirk, Dan p.s. Talked to a knowledgeable guy from the supplement store today and he thought that zinc and evening primrose or borage oil might help...I don't know, but definitely haven't taken zinc in months and months. > > > > > > > > > Thanks Marti for the recipe...I'll look into that. > > > > > > > Dan, > > I am not sure that you should try the Epsom salts now, as I did > > research and found that the salts are drying. Guest guest
Hoi,Dan, Sorry for the late reaction. Many ME/CFS have " leaky gut " ...lactose/fructose intolerance or glutenintolerance! (see DMl spoke in perth on this forum) Idid a diet free of lactose/fructose which is difficult; everything contains it!! Found out that many types of food gave me problems : Leek : sleepfor two days onion : baked is no problem;cooked is big problem paprika/nuts : my body don't diegest this. So,basically,Ieat a lot of rice and fish and many vegetables; only white bread (no dark breads);soy products:chicken/turkey (no porc or beef); no vinegars (sauces!!) Try to buy everything fresh so no processed food. I got a " basic diet " which I had to follow(=toasten dread;chicken/turkey products;some jam:soup with no herbs or " bouillon " . This you do for 3 weeks (called " the wash-out " ). after 3 week on day 1 you can ad something (say:carrots). So day1 you eat :rice ,chicken, carrots DAy 2/3 you eat the basic agian. On day4 you can again ad something. You write down the reactions you had on day 2/3 I foud out some crastrange stuff about food and my body! Strange : i do good on thai food (rice, fish, chili, coconut milk, bamboo ....despite the doc saying chili is not good cause too strong on the gut! I do have 2 remarks : if Rnase and PKR pathway are disturbed then the allergies change. So one day you do fine on lettice and some days later not! Read this on the internet end checked it on a forum and many people have this problem! A friend of mine is having spectacular results with a " acid-alkali diet " ...less pain;more power and less brain fog. he eats a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables;almost no meat (150gram a day) Again our CFS doc says it's not possible but we see the results If anyone has an explanation for this please react? I hope this helps you a bit I don't take calciul nor magnesium. To me it's impossible to get this at a normal level because of the mitochondria problems!! Kalium/Natrium;calcium is a big problem there and leads to poor ATP production! So we can not have energy! If you're interested i e-mail you my diet (prescribed by a famous cfs doc. Greetings and sorry for the late reaction. Guest guest
Hey thanks Dirk. I know I have a slight wheat intolerance, and need to stay away from some spices, but I should have more of those you listed checked out. Did you find that avoiding fructose helped? I don't eat very much, but do have a spoon or less of raw honey every now and then. Thanks, d. p.s. The rest of your diet sounds the same as mine! > > Hoi,Dan, > > Sorry for the late reaction. > Many ME/CFS have " leaky gut " ...lactose/fructose intolerance or > glutenintolerance! Guest guest
The RAST blood test for food allergy helped me lots. Some common foods such an orange juice were killing me. Its an expensive test but if you have food problems I recommend it. I attempt to do the 4 day rotation so mine don't get worse. Alice ~~~~~~~ Hey thanks Dirk.
