Sodium bicarbonate is recommended but personally I'm not sure that

any of them get through the stomach acid into the bloodstream without

being neutralized there. Does anyone know about that?

Hi Edgar

It may be that the amount used is more than the amount neutralized in

stomach. Was it one teaspoonful for alkalinizing the blood? not sure if this is

correct.if it is than some of it will neutralize the stomach acid and remaining

will go through intestines.

Hi Edgar

Here is my experience with this in finding a way to neutralize the

acid in my muscles. I take double what is listed on the box for

indigestion. Same amount of water, twice the sodium bicarbonate. I

researched this some years ago on various triathalon websites, how

the super athletes extend their endurance and shorten their recovery

time. It has a systemic alkalinizing effect.

The regular dose ( I think 1/2 tsp) neutralizes the stomach acid,

the next 1/2 tsp goes from stomach to bloodstream. I wake without

as much muscle pain and stiffness.

Thanks Marti,

At least it sounds reasonable and you seem to report a positive effect.

I use a product called Alkala N from Germany manufactured by Sanum-Kehibeck. It

contains sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate and sodium citrate. I use a

scoop a day to maintain a ph of around 7.0.

Years ago my allergy doctor recommended Alka Seltzer Gold (no aspirin in

the Gold formula) for a food allergy reaction to neutralize it. Today I

use Emergen-C packets (often two at a time) which gives me

neutralization and supplements besides.
