More on Gardasil (aka: HPV) (HPV = Help Pay for Vioxx) I checked out the links

provided to Prove's website keeping track of the information regarding HPV, and

it's fantastic. If anyone is concerned about the mandating of HPV - check out

Prove's blog.

(PST) Dear PROVE National Members,

The spotlight has unfortunately been on Texas because our Governor has taken

an outrageously dangerous precedent setting action using force of an

intrusive executive order to mandate our little 6th grade girls in Texas to

be vaccinated against the sexually transmitted HPV virus in order to attend

the 6th grade!

We are in the midst of a fight that has implications for the rest of the

United States as Merck continues to try and force their way through

legislatures across the country. We are tracking what happens here

where multiple legislators are filing bills, and typical supporters of the

governor are not accepting this outrageous power grab usurping the

legislature, ignoring efficacy, safety, and cost issues, and trampling

parental rights. Two of our members, and Watts have very

generously and unselfishly volunteered a tremendous amount of their time and

created a phenomenal BLOG tracking the efforts to overturn 's executive

order. You can take a look at

http://overturnrp65.blogspot.com/

and share it with your friends and your own state legislators and media

contacts who are concerned about what is going on here. It is also linked on

the top of the PROVE webpage dedicated to this HPV issue

If you are outside of Texas, do not wait. It is just a matter of time -

this is the time where we really all need to get busy continuing to contact

all of our elected state officials across the country.

Another thing that is extremely helpful, if you can take the time to write

letters to the editor of you local papers and call in to radio shows and TV

stations especially when you see things you know to be misleading or untrue,

it can be a huge help to shifting the momentum.

Finally, several people wrote in asking how they can see the NBC Today Show

segment that aired on Monday. You can link directly to it online at MSNBC

" Feb. 5: Texas governor Rick is requiring girls to be vaccinated

against HPV. NBC's Janet Shamlian reports. Then, TODAY host Meredith Vieira

talks with NBC chief medical editor Dr. Snyderman, Texas

representative Farrar and Dawn . "

Keep the faith and let's go give the good fight!
