He told me that he wants his niece and nephew who are 9, and 13 to receive the HPV vaccine. He has had HPV since he was 19 years old, he is now 24. I've been doing a lot of research about the vaccine and the virus. I will tell him that there is no proof of cervical cancer being caused by HPV. My question is if someone has HPV and it clears up. Also the issue of non-vaxing our 2.5 year old has recently come up between me and DH so I wanted to arm myself I've had HPV for I guess about 8 or 9 years now. From all I can tell, the only symptom I have is 2 or 3 small warts on my privates. They have been there for years and do not change. When I was still going to an OB/GYN, he did have me treated but I'm not sure if it was for HPV or not. I believe you never get rid of the virus but you may not have any symptoms at all but you can infect others. During a PAP exam, my OB/GYN found some " abnormal " cells. He had them biopsied and had me come in for an exam first every 3 months, then every 6 months and eventually we want back to annual visits.
