Why not go in there and ask for the old one back in exchange for one that better represents your choice now that you have been informed. Sounds reasonable to me. Just ask kindly for the transaction and offer very little explanation unless one is asked of you. Even then, just keep it to the fact that you recently learned about the AAP accepted altered form.
