Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I posted last week with our story. Vax on the 13th (I compromised by delaying vax...sorry I did now, but hindsight is 20/20) & my son is continuing to have seizures. (he has a genetic seizure disorder anyhow, but these are " new " seizures, a new type. My question is this....and I'm not entire sure how to phrase it, but hopefully someone will understand what I'm trying to ask...His shots were 2 weeks ago. If this is an encephalopathy, how long will said damage take to show up on an MRI. With the number of seizures he is having (this increase in seizures despite increases in ALL of his regular seizure meds PLUS adding a benzodiazapine & STILL having sz), I'm frankly preparing myself for the news of permanent damage. I can type that now without sobbing, but the thought that I allowed them to do this to my son, and allowed myself to be pressured into this...well, its more than I can or want to deal right now...but no choice...SO...if this is some kind of physical damage...is this taking place like right now (a progressive type of thing) or is this a static, damage is already done, not gonna get worse type of thing or is it a " gonna get worse for the time being but will eventually stop progressing " type of thing...I truly don't know what to expect, but am praying for the best & preparing for the worst with this, but I need to know what is reasonable to expect from the neurologist at this point (the pediatricians are now out of the picture and are glad to be rid of me for the time being, they weren't doing anything but saying he had a cold anyhow...yeah, a cold, that started two hours after shots, complete with very high fever, no sneezing, coughing or runny nose, a high pitched scream & not sleeping...oh and those " little " bothersome constant seizures...crap...I hope I don't get that " strain of cold virus " ....its a nasty one this year...so y'all better watch out for that one!....OK, sarcasm aside...I know there are not any set in stone answers, but as far as tests, etc...what should I be asking for/demanding at this point. I will be calling the office at 9 to schedule an EEG for today, which I'm sure is going to show a big change from his last one. OK, any words of wisdom (other than the obvious, which its too late for) are much appreciated! Thanks so much, & sorry to come across as crabby...I don't intend to, and I hope I don't, but I'm sure many of you came here for the same reason & understand my crankiness! Thank You!
