Guest guest
We just got back from the pediatrician, and I had a somewhat concerning experience. We've never been bugged there before about our decision not to vaccinate, but today, we got a waiver sprung on us. I guess I should have told them that I'd bring in my own waiver, but my husband looked over it and signed it. There was a statement on there though that I just couldn't ignore in good conscience. It said something to the effect that, " I understand that by not vaccinating my child, I am endangering the health of my child and other children that my child might come in contact with. " Fred crossed it out and wrote something along the lines of, " I disagree with this statement. " I'm worried though. Fred signed it and the doctor signed it, and they said, " We're just going to put it in his chart, " , but I got this sickish feeling like, " Someday someone could come back on us and accuse us of child abuse because we signed a paper saying that we know we're endangering our child's health. " Should I really be worried, or am I just being paranoid? On another note, my son has had a cruddy cough and runny nose for a month now. We just assumed it was allergies (even though he's only 15.5 months old), but the doctor said he's got a lot of inflamed fluid in his ears and she prescribed an antibiotic. While I don't want him to suffer or anything, I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do. Anybody have any good suggestions? I was considering using some coconut oil in his ears and maybe making him some sodium ascorbate to give him, but I don't know what the dosage would be for his size.
