The population bomb is a myth. The book was written

in the early 1960s and not one of its dire predictions

have come true. I think we need more good people in

this world. There are too many evil, greedy people.

Food control genocide? I think what the snippet is saying is that

Kissinger wanted to encourage countries to control their population by

using food donations as incentive -- you can argue that that's evil

because it's food, but using donations/trade as leverage to get people

to do what you want is used all the time by everyone... our gov't with

other countries (trade embargoes, etc.), and by groups and gov't and

companies in our own country, too.

I don't know about this book nor do I care. It only makes sense that if

you have more kids than 2 (one to replace you when you die), population

will increase. Population also increases when more people survive

illnesses. Increase of human population has decimated the environment

in parts of the globe and pushed some species to extinction. World

population has skyrocketed in recent years -- there are now more people

on the planet than the total number of people who ever lived in the

past combined. This cannot be good for the planet.

Good people are not born, but made. The more people you have, the more

evil you can have as well. And problems of overpopulation, such as

poverty, only increase the chances that evil will flourish. One of the

reasons the international sex trade flourishes is because impoverished

parents are willing to get rid of a child they can't feed or support.

I would suggest that more evil is flourishing in the wealthy and powerful

leaders of the world and corporations

That is where I see sociopathy (evil)

I don't think that increase of human population is the largest problem with

the globe and extinction.

It is exploitation by the first world of the third world.

What I see among the impoverished is not evil, but desperation.

that's how I see it

Definitely!

Do you mean by using up its resources? Large portions of tiger

territory are being eaten up in Asia for wood being used by the local

populace only. People in third world are not more innately virtuous

than us in the first world, just have less power. Exploitation of third

world by first world is indeed terrible, but overpopulation is a big

problem too.

>

Definitely have more sympathy for the poor and those who do things out

of desperation. Doesn't mean the end result isn't evil, though. All

humans have capacity for both good and evil, regardless of whether they

are rich or poor. Temptations for rich are just different. Evil by rich

people often is more subtle and less easy to detect, that is one reason

the rich and powerful get off easier.

Ever hear of the eugenistics movement? Ever hear of

Malthus? That is where it started. The book,

the Population Bomb, by Ehrlich, predicted that

hundreds of millions of people would die in the 1970s

and 1980s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Population_Bomb

, why would you not want to even read the book?

I read everything I can, which is why I am on this

discussion board. Not everyone has two children,

which is why, even with people having smaller

families, the native population in Europe is dropping.

That's absolutely correct, I hold too.

It's some very fanatical adversaries of practically everybody

on earth who are saying that population increase is bad.

The natural resources are plentiful, and many more can live

on earth, and live well, than the 6+ billion of today. The

exploitation must cease - which of course requires enormous

social change.

On natural resources, I recommend a website (whose editor

doesn't agree with me at all on politics, but his facts are sound):

Back to vaccines - I would encourage less judgmental & condescending-type

posts

Some say that vaccine dangers are crackpot theories.

As we open our minds, more and more becomes less and less a crackpot theory

& others - do you have questions on vaccines, all of the, specific

ones?

We are hear to support and help with those questions
