Guest guest
Yes. Let nature take it's course. And be skeptical of people who are in business. Their main interest is creating business. Visit website: www.medicine-no.com Advice from Toronto Naturopath I hope someone can offer some guidance here. I took DS (9mos) to a very reputable Naturopath this morning to discuss vaccinations. We have not had DS vaccinated and don't plan to. Her recommendation was a 14 week treatment of homeopathic vaccinations. What is this??? She mentioned that it's still introducing the body to viruses (as a kind of training) but in a way that's not harmful. I've never heard of this. Is it safe? Or should we just squash the whole idea of forced immunity, try to keep our son healthy and let nature take it's course. Thanks in advance for any help, Laurie
Guest guest
No it is not safe. Sheri N has talked about this in the past. This naturopath is using homeopathy in an allopathic manner. If there were an epidemic of a particular disease and your child was exposed, THEN a nosode would possibly be indicated. You're so right, immunity cannot be " forced. Guest guest
Hey Laurie - who did you take ds to?? (I'm also in TO.) My son Elliot has not been vaccinated and I would be leary of homeopathic vaccinations, although I've heard them mentioned on occasion in the ap circles around town. Did the naturopath give you a list of remedies that are used??? Perhaps get your hands on that and research from there (if you are considering that route). > I took DS (9mos) to a very reputable Naturopath this morning to discuss > vaccinations. The key is to get over fear by educating selves about the diseases, the treatment out there - the reality That's why I teach some of my classes. You don't need that. Guest guest
Hi , We took him to Bodner on the advice of an AP group that I belong to. I had heard great things and she was rated BEST in NOW Magazine and belongs to a birthing centre. For all these reasons, we chose to see her. Now I'm not so sure. Hmmmmm...... Not sure how old your son is but stay strong. We just had our 9 month check up this morning and as usual, our doc was trying to scare us into starting the " schedule " . Asking if we aren't afraid he'll be exposed to TB or something else once he starts daycare. Speaking of which, they require a letter from my doctor stating his immunization and my doc doesn't want to write one b/c she doesn't condone not vaccinating. I always walk out of there 2nd guessing myself!!!!!!! I HATE THAT! Guest guest
If you are interested I have a very good homeopath here in Oshawa and I do believe he has an office in Toronto. Guest guest
Kathy, I know for the public system you can definitely provide the exemption form, but I wonder if Laurie is considering private day care which can make up it's own rules about that. Guest guest
A little off the subject but along the lines of the exemption form, my 5th grader who received one dose of mmr and had a bad reaction just received a note home from the school RN that we need to fill out the form yearly though we've never filled one out before.I checked off religious, good cause and medical as I have reasons for all three. We used to go to a fabulous docter who would write a note on a presription pad that my son was under his care and vacinations were contraindicated but going to that dr. has become cost prohibitive so I've been trying to work with in the system under my rights of the constiution not to vac. Does anyone know how often this form has to be filled out? Thanks. Laurie > > can't you just give them the health department exemption form? > > ·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`· > «·´¨*·.¸¸. Guest guest
once! you only have to complete it one time per child. (I have 2 in school, gr 3 and gr 7) phone the local health dept, speak to a nurse in the immunization dept, get the info from her, and then give all info to the school nurse. ·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`· «·´¨*·.¸¸. Guest guest
can they really make up their own rules? that doesn't seem right! Guest guest
Sure! For example if you set up a daycare in your home, you can decide the paramatres around who can come and who cannot to a certain degree. I was a school principal for a private school for a while and it's really up to the individual school how they wish to proceed on so many different levels. I do think that the majority would accept the exemption form (they want your tuition after all), but they don't have to.
