Guest guest
Hi all-- I was upset by some of what was said in the whole Yasko debate (I am not going to say who or what as I detest getting into lengthy enegry draining diatribes). I, however DO wish to make a point here about something I saw in a well respected magazine (extremely excpensive to advertise in by the way)in which most ads are for handmade cashmere sweaters and such. The magazine does offer excellent journalism which is why I read it although it has risen in price to be beyond my means. As some of you may know, the woman who authored the book (from which the movie was made)Seabiscuit did write an article for this magazine (the magazine is called The New Yorker). The article was superb and told her story of the illness, how she was able under great duress to write the book and how she still struggles with the illness. I had been seeing Dr Enlander for not all that long at the time, but I DO remember inquiring about this ad which they ran in that same issue. The ad said that the doctor running the ad could 'cure chronic fatigue syndrome in just 6 weeks!' The 'doctor' in question was none other than Dr Teitlebaum. Anybody here who was 'cured' by him in ANY amount of time raise your hands! Note; this article was in the same year that Seabiscuit came out; most likely the same week --weekly magazine-- as it's premiere or shortly after. He has clinics now and I have read some very mixed reviews about the experiences of people who visit them on another board. (CF Alliance if I am permitted to mention the board here.) I would never visit his clinics even if someone decided to PAY for all costs; my own health is too precious to me. Our systems are all different as are the drugs and the amount of activity we can tolerate. Some therapies work better for some more so than others and that is simply how it seems to be .. so far. I am still trying to be an optimist, ok? My brains are not quite so scrambled some of the time, I do not HURT as much, and I do not doubt it is due to my doctor. He really does take in what each case presents as I am sure many of the doctors out there who are dedicated to this do. Thanks for reading this-- Jane, the one with the hound
