Guest guest
Jill, If you had a problem with the oxytocin you may need to take DHEA along with it. DHEA comes in pill form. Ask your doctor about this. I developed severe anxiety while taking Levaquin and Avalox. These are quinolone antibiotics and are now known to cause SEVERE CNS damage that is irreversible in some cases. Cipro is also in this family, as is Lariam. There were soldiers on Lariam who killed family members or committed suicide. If you can possibly convince your doctor to not use quinolone antibiotics I would do so. They are simply not worth the risk when there are alternatives. I can send links to the research on this, but not today. I have company coming. a Carnes > > For those of you who've done a protocol including antibiotics, > antivirals, antifungals, and transfer factor, did you experience > increased anxiety on the protocol? Ask your doctor about this. < I had been taking 25 mg DHEA in the mornings, but he wanted me to stop for the time being. I'll ask him what he thinks. I emailed him my concerns and am awaiting a response. As for antibiotics, I did one round of zithromax, am still on Acyclovir (30-day course). I'm to do another Z-pack in about a week. I've done it before for strep throat and it didn't seem to bother me. Is this not one of the family you mentioned? Thanks for the response, Jill
Guest guest
I've had extreme anxiety brought upon by various substances or lack of substances. These were anxiety states that made me think I was losing my mind - very scary. There were three different episodes brought about by different things, none of which you're taking. I think the bottom line is that the brain is very sensitive and it sounds like you're taking a lot of things at once. If it were me I'd back off the meds and see what happens. Just my opinion. Good luck! Michele G > > For those of you who've done a protocol including antibiotics, > antivirals, antifungals, and transfer factor, did you experience > increased anxiety on the protocol? My doctor said the protocol could make me feel > initially more symptomatic, so I'm wondering if that's what's going > on. ***Yes, your doc seems to have pegged it right. Oxytocin like human growth hormone and other hormones has cysteine residues as part of the protein structure of the hormone. ***Too much cysteine like this all at once can increase excitotoxicity in the brain. I had the same experience with injecting too much human growth hormone several years back and this was surprising as I thought I'd get the more typical calming experience from taking it. Guest guest
Hi, My doc recommended that I take a bit of Valium when I couldn't stand the anxiety. I would take 1/4 of a 5mg Valium and that helped a lot, although it made me even more tired. Guest guest
Jill, your doctor has piled everything plus the kitchen sink into your body, willy nilly imo. He should try to determine, if he can, what he thinks is a priority for your body now, and start one drug at a time. This approach, just loading everything on, lacks respect or consideration for the body itself. This is not a race to the finish line. He may indeed be right in his hunch about chronic infections, but trying to blast the waterfront and to give you heparin and hormones all at once seems very dicey to me. Just my 1/2 centavo. > > For those of you who've done a protocol including antibiotics, > antivirals, antifungals, and transfer factor, did you experience > increased anxiety on the protocol? Guest guest
Hi Jill, Zithromax is a macrolide and is very safe, as antibiotics go. No, it is not a quinolone. Most likely you will be fine taking it. Just ask your pharmacist about combining it with other things you are taking to be sure you aren't going to damage your liver with some combo. a > > > If you had a problem with the oxytocin you may need to take DHEA > > along with it. Guest guest
Thanks, that's reassuring. The Lamisil will be done Saturday, and 2 more weeks of Acyclovir. I'm going to try Lovenox tonight; hopefully it will help and I won't react to it like I did the heparin. The pharmacist said she's had lots of people successfully take Lovenox after a heparin reaction. Again, reassuring. They also know this doctor and his protocols at this pharmacy, so nothing raised red flags their way. The doc said the reason for the heparin was to offset any side effects I'd feel, and it was probably helping. My husband is taking the exact cocktail I am (except the heparin) and he's doing fine. But he never had FMS symptoms. I'm hoping this is the explanation. The last time I felt this level of anxiety was after my son was born; before that it was after college graduation in 1991, and at that time I wasn't taking anything supplemental or pharmaceutical. Probably the virus or FMS or whatever it is. Thanks again for all the responses, Jill
